The Old Soul

Rubye was a wanderer without a name when she came across the Scattered Scale clan. She fit in easily, pacified fights between Tigerclaw and Monkshood, accompanied RIppletail on his fishing trips, flew with Prominence, and even allowed Goshawk to dress her up in various items.

She initially turned down Raspberry's invitation to join the clan, as she sensed Gwyndor resented her Light-stained eyes. When she went to say her goodbyes, Gwendolyn cried, Gigala brought her a bouquet of daylilies, and even Amdir spoke - "Please don't go." At their insistences, she finally relented to stay.

After she joined, Monkshood gave her a formal name - originally Ruby, for her bright red scales. The 'e' was added when Xenon was recording something in his books, spilled some ink, and tried hastily to rub it off. Rubye noticed the mistake, said, "That looks nice like that, doesn't it?" and adopted the trailing 'e'.

The painting usually present on her scales is Xenon's latest art project - since Rubye loves to lay in the sun for long periods, she makes a wonderful canvas for him. Of course, it washes away as soon as she dips into the river for a bath, but Xenon doesn't mind too much - it gives him the opportunity to make a new one.

Rubye found her Familiar on the edge of the Viridian Labyrinth, and fell in love with the tiny little creature. She immediately picked him up and has cared for him since.

She loves laying on the sand, and dislikes arguments.
