Mutation, adaptation, growth. I see what others will not: I see beauty in the broken, artistry in the flesh, purpose in the alien. That which I govern shall fall under my rule, encased in chrysalis; their short-lived sleep in a sterile utopia. And, when they emerge, disfigured and monstrous, I shall cradle them, for they have become beautiful.
There are those who would call my creations, my children, hideous. They are wrong. For distortion and change are intrinsic to life, and the bloated, sloughing skin upon my works is nothing short of resplendent.

Notes from Traveler's journal:
All offspring of the GENESIS are terrible creatures. Larger than life, armored to the teeth, and often sentient to boot.
This one? This one is worse.
I can only reckon it was corrupted by the elemental influence of the land somehow. Its eyes glazed over like marbles as roots sprouted from the sockets, craning towards nonexistent sunlight. Its chitin is pure, glassy obsidian, and it hungers for flesh.
It has no drones, instead moving throughout the forest with a surprising silence. It encases its victims in a thin, fleshy bubble - an amniotic sac, of sorts - and fills it with some ungodly fluid, and from there, the victim's flesh is warped and mutated into something unrecognizable. Something halfway between dragon and drone, and yet notably neither; something disgustingly other. The victim's minds are just as broken as their bodies, and what havoc they cause is unprecedented and fueled by fear.
Traveler's journal, log 2:
It reproduced. The disgusting bloated thing REPRODUCED.
I didn't see where the eggs came from, but I can only guess at the horrifying possibilities. After it captured that Gladebeast glitch drone for its own devices, it stopped its roving and settled down in a part of the forest far north, near the coast, and dug a nasty little hole where it stayed for a number of weeks.
When it emerged some time later, it was significantly skinnier, and out behind it came two tottering little abominations. To call them dragons is too high a compliment - they look more like empty insect shells stuffed with rot and fungi and animated by vines, with all manner of plant life bulging out of their chitin and leaving trails of pollen floating in their wake. I have no idea if they're sentient or not, or if they're even capable of sight; their eyeballs are practically popping out of their sockets, and covered in sores.
The big beast seems pleased, and purrs at them like a queen to her kittens. I can't imagine what's going through its head...
