Biography
Speakeasy hadn't intended on staying in Clan Dragonblight for too long - he was a free spirit, wanted to borrow without limits and wander where he pleased. Then he came back to the clan after gathering one day and found Shebeen, finally returning from her own expeditions. They locked eyes and it was love at first sight, once the awkward hellos were out of the way.
Speakeasy couldn't say if he'd ever thought about being a parent before, but the surprise and relief on Shebeen's face when he said an equally awkward hello to her daughter as well was more than enough to make up his mind. To this day he argues that they stole each others hearts whenever Shebeen isn't around to listen and scoff at his romanticism.
He's taken Talin as his protege in the delicate art of borrowing. Shebeen tends to play their relationship rather coolly, but every so often he'll catch her smiling. He's considered the face of Barebones, serving drinks and warming up the crowd, letting Shebeen take care of the business side of things. He's got a remarkable talent for scouting new members of the clique, from within the clan and on his ventures outside for supplies. Most notably he is the reason Ortolan - an old partner - ended up coming to the clan.
He recently scouted out a new chef to aid Talin in the kitchen, though only time will tell if Ghira can recapture her love of cooking. He also took in a little baby gaoler, picked up wandering alone in the wastes, which he (and his ankles) are regretting only a little bit. Overall, Speakeasy is considered the leader of the clique, even though he personally ranks his wife above himself. He certainly bares the most responsibility for how many dragons have joined the group, and tends to be the dragon they go to if there's a problem or dispute to be solved.
