Avivoryss Laboratory

Some of the false rumors consist of outlandish claims - things like "dangerous aliens were found at the bottom of the abyss, which caused the A.L. to suddenly become silence in fear of mass panic" - while others were just flat-out debunked by the higher-ups. There are, however, some rumors that are terribly specific and make some sense, and that the higher-ups either struggle to debunk or haven't commented on. The dragons who like conspiracy theories often talk about these rumors, desperately trying to prove them, despite not ever going down to Level IV.

  • Macrae was the second scientist assigned to the Avivoryss Laboratory, mainly through her insistence to go with her long-time colleague Leoster who had been picked to head the A.L.
  • In contrast to Leoster, Macrae is a cheery, social, and somewhat scatter-brained dragon, though still on the quieter side. She likes to check in with the A.L. scientists, see how their work is coming, and offer any ideas or potential solutions whenever they hit a roadblock. While she sometimes plans things ahead, particularly for experiments, she overall tends to be spontaneous, diving into days-long researching into random topics that strike her fancy at the time (and usually collecting any copies of research she finds to add to the A.L. library). Her only real point of similarity to Leoster is her stubbornness whenever she's dead-set on some research, though she's far more likely to switch to other means of studying if she finds one more convenient.
  • Primary curator of the A.L.'s library, full of copies of research and logs from both within and outside A.L., and full of a wide variety of topics, from the most well-known studies to the most obscure theories and observations; whatever Macrae can manage to get her claws on, she'll grab. This results in her knowing a good chunk of information on the most random of scientific topics, and she can provide various sources and books of research on said topic if asked.
  • Besides managing the library and helping other A.L. scientists, she's often doing her own research, frequently nose-deep in other scientists' logs and compiling notes and/or making her own observations. It's also not uncommon to see her running experiments or conducting research which Leoster had planned out, mainly since he hasn't the time to conduct them himself and she can almost always keep up with Leoster's expected timeline.
  • To the confusion of most of her colleagues, Macrae frequently spends time with Leoster - whom she frequently refers to as "Leo" - whenever neither of them are busy with their respective work. She tells them that Leo has a nicer side to him, but none of the other A.L. workers have seen any hint of such. Regardless, Leo at least seems to tolerate her more than his other colleagues, and most of the A.L. scientists have taken to delivering any messages to Leo through Macrae.
