Librarian's Record - On the Matter of the Eternal Flame

Sequirek, a close ally of the Lost Mage. Ralin tells me she's a very accomplished mage, though I feel thankful to have never seen any proof of this. Tales, however, I have heard.
Sequirek comes from the outer reaches of Noctiluca, where little light spread from the crowded city. She has seemingly been a fanatic of the flame since a young age, though she knew better than to allow her fires to grow uncontrolled. Despite her caution, her love of flame unnerved her parents, who she slowly grew distant from.
Ralin tells me he taught her magic, in hopes that the knowledge that fire was within her claws at all times would curb her craving for desolation. I consider this one of his few moments of idiocy.
The odd thing is, when Sequirek was given magical fire, it simply... did not go out. She now burns constantly, unharmed by the fire. Much, I believe, like the river guard Cain, though the things they do with this scorching eternity are very different. Cain seems to attempt ignorance of his state, while Sequirek seemingly embraces it, leaving behind a trail of ash and charcoal in her wake.
On that note, I really must start organizing records on fire... Between Ruscello, Sequirek, and Cain, there is the beginning of a pattern forming, and I am not keen on finding out what exactly it implies. It would be better to end this pattern as-is, with only three of the eternally alight in Noctiluca.
At times I can't help but wonder if she's aware of the destruction. Reports say she simply... wanders.

She needs water
Someone's daughter
Forgot what they taught her
And she just wants to go home

One temptation sparked this
Now I can feel the darkness
It's my own fault but you had this planned
All of my you take now
Like criminals and shakedowns
You make me forget who I am

A young dragon, taken by the flame. Taught by another mage that all fire feeds on something, but such a lesson was ignored in favour of summoning fire that would never go out or die.
Had she known the fire would feed from her, perhaps she'd have been more cautious in bringing the eternal flame to her very being. But if you lead a fire to a flammable fuel, it will burn.
Sequirek takes no joy in the destruction she brings. She takes no joy in anything. Mind and consciousness being consumed by the fire she so desperately craved, the Charcoal Mage wanders, somewhere between life and death, unaware of the trail left behind.

I ventured from the library, following the trail of ash. Carefully, of course. That said, my crystalized scales afford me higher protection from burns than most dragons have. A meeting with Oasis, who is similarily turned to rock and gem, and Cain, his eternally alight... Partner? I'm not certain of their relationship. Regardless, I have learned that while flame still is painful to me, it cannot burn me near as much as it ordinarily would.
So I ventured out to find Sequirek. I needed to know if she's aware of the trail she leaves.
She is not. As far as I can tell, Sequirek is not aware of anything. She does not speak or seem to observe anything in front of her, just marching on through the labyrinth of the Hewn City's ruins. However, behind blank eyes, I can still see a faint glimmer of light. It is not too late.
I... Am ashamed to admit I may need to contact The Abyss in order to save her. Ralin has refused to help, and the only other dragons who can be heard by any and all are sealed below.
I pray to every deity we serve that Siren or... The Storyteller... will be willing to aid me.
I just hope The Storyteller does not enact vengeance for my part in his fate.
