Biography

   LILJE GODDESS of AUTUMN
death is just the beginning of a new life
............. 49254484.png
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
She didn’t know what was happening. It wasn’t supposed to be like this. Mother had held her so close and then, all of the sudden, she was tucked away into a small cave. To the back, Mother had said, and Lilje of course listened. Mother had sounded afraid.

Lilje didn’t know how long she had stayed in that cave. Mother had said not to come out until she came back, but she was hungry. Nervously, she approached the edge and peaked her head out. Snow was falling so heavily she could barely see. The wind whipped by in violent swirls that made it hard for her to hear her own thoughts. She lowered herself towards the bottom of the cave.

“Mother?!” She called out as loudly as she could, but there was no answer. Again. “Mother!” Over and over again. She called out until her throat hurt, and even then she continued on. When finally Lilje gave up, she crawled back into the back of the cave, scared and alone and crying. It was then that she heard a voice, deeper than Mother’s, but clear all the same. Another dragon!

“Hello?” The voice spoke, and Lilje slowly rose to the edge of the cave again, sniffling, “By the norns…”

“Have you seen Mother?” Lilje asked nervously. This dragon was all dark blue except for his eyes, whose red almost screamed for her to run. She couldn’t, though. She was alone.

“I have seen no other dragons, child. Are you…” The elder dragon trailed off before glancing into the storm. He knew the hatchling would not survive alone, “My name is Loptr, darling. If you come with me, I can get you something to eat. You must be hungry."

xAqDFUI.gif Lilje was, indeed, quite hungry. Nervously, she finally agreed to follow the older dragon. Loptr kept a wing to his side in front of the hatchling, sheltering her from the harshest of the winds. She was strong. Lost without a mother in the desolate north, and still trudging on. It was admirable.

Lilje and Loptr returned together to a larger cave with stores of all types of food. They both ate their fill in silence, before the young hatchling found the bravery to talk to this strange dragon who had rescued her.

“What were you doing out in the storm?” She chirped up, head tilting to the side with her curiosity.

“Storms do not bother me, child. I am the God of Chaos,” Loptr explained with a bit of remorse. He did not have pride in his self-proclaimed title, “I thrive off the storms. What were you doing so far north, in the desolate lands? Surely your parents could have thought better than to bring you here?”

Lilje looked away and shrugged once, “Mother said bad dragons were coming to hurt us. We were running. I.. she... told me to hide, then the storm came, and then you came–”

“Shh, child, it is alright. You may stay with me and I will care for you until your mother returns,” Loptr offered a smile, inwardly nervous. The last time he dared to let himself care about someone, she died, and he had been the one to kill her. He shuddered briefly and did not dwell on the emotions of the past. They had already left him behind, eaten away by the plague. Today was a new day.

Lilje’s mother never did return for her. After the storm had subsided, Loptr took her back to the cave where they waited together for some time. Many times they visited, the result was the same. No other dragon had been near the cave in quite some time. Loptr kept true to his promise, taking care of and raising Lilje. She began to know him as a father, and the pair truly cared for each other.

Chaos and the Harbinger of Winter, intertwined.
