Nobody has anything good to say about Faust. He is a trickster, he is selfish, he is wasting his talents. His parents are disappointed in him, his teachers are frustrated with him and he has no friends. The only good thing about Faust are his melodies - when he pulls out his lute and plays a song, everyone stops to listen. He enchants everyone around him, hypnotizes them in a trance. He can both heal your ailments and make them worse, whichever he feels like doing. It is a coin toss - whether you are willing to make it is up to you. Faust left his birth clan many moons ago. He has no love for it and remembers his parents as two pairs of eyes. That's it. He only travels with his lute and a pile of papers, bound with an old leather belt. Sometimes he will enter a library, borrow some paper and a quill and add another page to his collection. A new melody - every single song Faust has ever sung he has written himself. Every note a spark of creativity, never heard before. Anyone who listens to Faust sing and play will say it is nothing like they've ever heard before. An enchanting melody, as mysterious as the Gods and the Shade. Faust doesn't know where this talent comes from, he sees it the same way some people see the ability to craft weapons or tailor clothes - a skill to be used. He will not shy away from getting things done his way with his sweet songs. Faust joined a guild of light mages, he knew light dragons loved knowledge more than anything and would accept anyone willing to learn in the dusty libraries of the Sunbeam Ruins. Despite his abrasive personality, Faust made one friend - Razelan, a light mage who had a penchant for the dark arts, an oddity among his community. After their study hours, the two would sneak away to the older parts of the library to dig up old, dust covered books and try to decipher them, as they were written in ancient dialects very few dragons spoke today. Faust enjoyed Razelan's company and perhaps adored him in a way he had never adored anyone before, however, Faust neve revealed his true feelings and after leaving the guild, both parted their ways. Faust continued his wandering ways, enchanting villagers and warriors with his strange tunes. Sometimes he would sing of a mage who has a dark heart but a light soul. |
