Mell, as her family calls her, is a terrific cook and great with hatchlings. Of all the dragons in the lair the title "team player" fits Mell the best. She is able to work with any dragon, no matter how young, old or cranky. She never lets bad attitudes get under her scales. She just ignores complainers and gets on with her work. This skill has made her popular with the new mothers in the clan. Mell is the go to dragon for babysitting. She will care for even troublesome hatchlings, keeping them happy and healthy while their parents are busy elsewhere. Her not-so-secret weapon in this is a bag full of sweet treats.

While Mell can cook anything she puts her mind to, sweets are her specialty. She can make everything from simple shortbreads, to spun sugar confectionery that looks to beautiful to eat. Of course her favorite ingredient is honey ( no surprise for a bee dragon. ) Most of her honey she gets in trade from the bee hives living near the lair. She protects them from predators such a skunks and birds. The bees also enjoy treats such a jam and hard candy. Between watching the hatchlings and making treats for her friends, Mell is as busy as a bee.
