Pyrite
The Dreamer
"Always hold your head high."
Despite her Shadow upbringing, Pyrite had always had an affection for the Starfall Isles. It began when an excitable Spiral visited her clan. While her clanmates clamored for the games and trinkets he had brought with him, she desired the books he carried. The one he gave her was her constant companion for years. She spent her days traveling Sornieth through its pages, while her clan become more and more disgruntled with her dreamy nature. Any attempts to shame her about how she spent her time fell on deaf ears. No social faux-pas could dampen her sunny disposition, as nothing embarrassed her for long. The thinly-veiled (and openly hostile) insults barely ruffled her headfeathers. No one could tell if she had thick skin or was simply that oblivious. Her Shadow clan couldn't keep her rooted for long. Following her dreams as she always did, Pyrite left to journey to the Isles. She studied with the denizens of the Starwood Strand, and during her enlightenment her physical form...changed. Becoming a Coatl was quite a challenge given the difference in senses (the dulled sense of smell hitting her particularly hard), but her prehensile tail was useful during her studies. By the time she felt knowledgeable enough to move on, she was well used to her new form. She eventually made her way to a Water clan, in which she currently resides. There, she found a companion "freak" in Bloodstone. Both were welcomed to Water with, if not exactly open arms, less censure. Now, Pyrite's days are spent in the imaginary worlds of the books she is still so fond of. |
