Biography
HEX
Doctor/Shade Researcher
Doctor/Shade Researcher
|
An old soldier who has become scientist to try and combat the Shade, but was exiled from the his clan in the Lightning Farm for his... questionable... methods. His motives are his own, but there are always rumours about subjects like this... The other Skydancer was far from Hex's first subject, even since he’d set up his equipment in a more secluded area just outside the clan in the Wispwillow Grove. He knew that they told stories about him back there, of the experiments he did, and that parents told their hatchlings to stay away from him. They were fair to do that. No-one that young should have to see what he did every day, especially not what the Shade could do to them. He couldn’t think of his subjects as real dragons, ones that had once been like him, or he’d have gone insane before he made any progress, and he had been making progress. He’d watched the Shade bleed out of his subjects, quickly and slowly, reversed the physical effects on all of them, but their bodies hadn’t been able to handle it. One by one, they’d all died, and he didn’t hold much hope for his remaining one. The Shade that had him in its clutches must have possessed him years ago, and the body seemed nearly completely drained. He didn’t have much time before it chose another subject, and the Deities knew he couldn’t let that be him, no matter how tempting the whispers at night sometimes were. He’d only have a few more days, at most, Hex guessed. If this serum didn’t make a difference, there was only one other choice, and it was the knife he kept under some papers on his desk. He’d administered the serum over an hour ago, but that didn’t mean anything. He’d sit here and watch as long as he had to. Slowly, the Skydancer’s body started to stir, and the black slime that had been pouring from his body since Hex had captured him started to flow more slowly. Hex narrowed his eyes, half considering the knife before it got too difficult to get close, but then it- no, he- opened his eyes. The swirling pools of black were gone, replaced with the softly glowing purple of a shadow dragon. He twitched his legs against the shackles slowly, the looked up. Was this… success? He barely dared hope. Instead, Hex just smiled cautiously. “Welcome back.” |
