B I O G R A P H Y

Aither is a young, wild upstart with a thirst for blood and power. He’s motivated by bloodlust and his desire to win. He craves the high of victory and has no patience for those below him. Although he has no desire to take Matrix's position as king, he would easily kill anyone who tries to take his role as war general. He's got a peculiar charm about him that he uses solely for manipulation. Growing up, he trained alongside Ricin and they became friends through their inability to kill each other in mock battles. Matrix watched both closely.

Aither is the second youngest member of Postmortem, and has lived his entire life in the clan. His parents willingly gave him to Caelum when he had just hatched, claiming that he was destined for something that they could not provide him. They refused to explain any further, looking alarmingly anxious. Conveniently, the previous war general vanished just as Aither became eligible for the position. Some say he left, fearing what Aither would do, but others aren't so sure…

_BACKSTORY_

____Just after Aither's hatching, his parents knew something was wrong. Their son was bigger, fiercer, and more violent than the rest of their nest. He caused havoc for about a week when his parents knew that they wouldn't be able to provide what he needed to thrive. They sought out Caelum, knowing their tendency to train warriors and outcasts, and begged the Patriarch to take him. The Patriarch saw great potential in the young hatchling, and he desperately needed warriors for the start of the Search, so he agreed.

____Almost immediately, Aither began to train under Matrix, who had just taken on the role of training hatchlings. Matrix saw his potential, too, and took special measures in training him. He saw himself in the hatchling: in his markings, his wild violence, and his entrance to the clan as a young dragon. Whenever hatchlings fought, Aither won. As he grew, so did his violence. The frequent praise from his mentor went straight to his head, and his ego swelled. He became good friends with Ricin, Matrix's other special-treatment apprentice, and they were a terrifying duo.

____Over time, dragons with the circuit pattern started to be viewed as children of gods. Matrix, having the gene himself, only strengthened the rumors. Those with the gene are destined for greatness and they should be treated as such. When it was time for Postmortem to take control of the clan, Aither wasn't invited as much as he invited himself into the group. The only issue is that there already was a war general, a guardian by the name of Quartz. Aither was quick to voice his anger with Matrix, claiming that his best student with the highest battle success rate should be in charge of war, not some fossil. Matrix told him to wait for his turn.

____Frustrated, Aither went out to fight with anyone he could find. When he returned days later, Quartz was nowhere to be found. Matrix then gave him the position of war general, a knowing gleam in his eyes. There, Aither currently resides, just as violent and boastful as ever. Some say that he holds only two other dragons in his cruel heart: his mates, Overdrive and Howlin. Together, they make something of an odd trio.
