B I O G R A P H Y

Yes, the shadow roses were beautiful, but it was the thorns that ensnared her. No one mentioned those small, brutal things, but she couldn't take her eyes off of them. They were like her.

______ Hanabira was born into royalty in a light clan far far away from Elysian. It was a beautiful place, and Bi spent her days messing around with her younger brother and being taught how to rule(though her brother would be doing most of it, she always told herself). She was happy. She was safe and secure and comfortable, but that illusion didn't last for long. The clan was being torn up from the inside out, and no one knew who was responsible for it until Bi's family started rising to power. The clan assumed her parents were the ones who were tearing their beautiful clan apart, and the family was exiled by the dragons and families that feared for their life. In the chaos, Bi's family was separated. She tried her hardest to find her parents and her poor younger brother, but she was driven out of the entire light territory. Bi's right foreleg was wounded in the chaos, and she could barely walk when she awoke.

______ Hanabira flew for days, barely having the energy to stay awake. She had mud and dirt caked all over her, and you could barely see the stars coating her body. Her arm was still wounded and she knew she needed to get a doctor and fast. She flew over seas, lakes and rivers, and she knew from her studies it was The Sea of a Thousand Currents. She tried to search for clans, but there weren't any in sight. Bi knew if she stayed any longer she wouldn't have enough energy to fly, and she would be stranded in the vast place, so she flew with her last spurt of energy towards the awaiting shore. She collapsed from exhaustion as soon as she landed.

______ When Bi awoke, she was in what looked to be a cave with huge jungle leaves hanging over the entrance. It was oddly bright in the room dispite it being a cave, and this unsettled her. She was no longer covered in dirt, and her stars were shining brightly. She decided that this was why the room was so bright.

______ A pastel colored Bogsneak came in and introduced herself as Patecatl, a healer. Hanabira introduced herself hesitantly, and allowed Patecatl to heal her leg. It was a magical sort of healing, and that is what convinced Bi it was the Bogsneak's fault her leg didn't heal all the way. She was welcomed into Elysian, a shadow clan, with open arms. She didn't trust this kind gesture, wasn't that how her beloved light clan was torn apart? They were too kind and trustworthy, and dragons could come and go as they wished. What if the strange shadow clan had dragons who would tear it apart? What if she was going to make Elysian have the same fate just by being there? What if she was the one who was going to destroy the shadow clan, the same way her clan had been destroyed? She was suprised when the thought flickered through her mind, but she wasn't afraid. She had had enough of the fear clawing at her, tickling her spine. So she agreed. She joined Elysian and built herself a house out of the magic that flowed through her veins. She had always known it was there, but she never dared to touch it. But who cared at that point? Everything she loved had been renched from her, and it was only fitting that she spent her days in a shadow clan. Who would care? Not her parents. Her brother? He was long gone, she told herself as she laid down, shadows winding around her claws and her legs (one still limp from the injury she had all those years ago). He was long gone, she told herself again and again, but she never truly believed it.
