Working on a pirate ship is tough, but Emblem is up for it. One of the younger dragons aboard, Emblem is only 23, but it's hard to tell from her outward demeanor—they've worked very hard to appear cool, confident, and collected, and it's worked. The crew respects her as a navigator and as a dragon, and doesn't get involved in any of her business, as she may not be a fighter but she definitely has a sharp tongue that knows all of your weak points.

As a young dragon, though... Emblem was skittish and nervous, a bag full of nerves and tension. Her clan tried their best to care for her, but they didn't know how to deal with what was required for her to function properly and happily. Unwilling to burden them, she ran away from her home in the Abiding Boneland and ended up in wind territory. Somehow, she ended up in the Twisting Crescendo, nearly dying from the wind currents before she was tossed into the sea. Fished out by a passing ship, she ended up in Clan Volens for a few months where she vowed to never let her fear control her and always be confident in her endeavors. Upon visiting Clan Eomoris one morning, she found the Wandering Whale visiting, and the rest was history.
