King of the Plains
The same faded path greeted Blue, the gloom of the trees really brought down the mood of the place. It was too late to do anything about it though. Far too late. He trudged along the gravel path, shoulders aching from a day's worth of gathering. His weary sighs match his steps, accompanied by a symphony of crunching leaves. The buzz of cicadas soothed him, a low hum against his thoughts. But even with the forest guiding him, he couldn't stop the incessant ache in his feet. Luckily for him, he didn't have much further to go. As he rounded the patch of vegetation nearby, floating lanterns appeared in his vision, though clearly eerie, he sighed with relief. Home.

The paper lanterns were fashioned in blue and red, his principle colors. They floated just below the treeline, bobbing in a rhythmic pattern. As Blue passed them, they seemed to glow brighter. Another while later and he could make out the wall. A mossy cobblestone wall that went so high, it seemed to slice through the sky. The wall felt a sort of eerie even those hooded woods couldn't achieve. So chilling even the vegetation avoided it. Two feet shy of the wall was just plain earth. Blue knew he should've felt the same foreboding gloom but it had been his home for as long as he could remember.

Embedded into the wall was his humble abode, a quaint tired one-story house with tall glass windows. The wood was a rich brown, a complete contrast to the ashy grey of the forest behind him. The house's ivy collection clambered up its left side, an unruly flare of green. The wood boards creaked as he made his way up a small flight of stairs. Reaching the door, he fumbled around his satchel for his key. It was a funny idea he kept out of familiarity. He knew the forest well after all, well enough to know that if anything wanted to enter, no measly lock would stop it.

He pushed open the now unlocked door into a cozy-looking living room. The room was the same deep brown as the outside, yet the room didn't feel dark. A blazing fireplace was situated to the left of the room, atop which stood a variety of potted plants. Pillows of various shades of blue covered the other side of the room, all worn from use. A small coffee table stood atop a carpet in the middle of the room littered in plants as well. The room led to three others, one was his bedroom, the other a small kitchen, where he would drop off his small gathering of spices he found on his way home.

Blue took a quick moment to check up on his plants as well, lifting their leaves delicately with his claws. He'd pluck off every wilted leaf and carefully tip water into the ones with dry soil. After making his way through every plant in the room, he was satisfied. He proceeded towards the third room, the only one with a door. A knob turned and a creak later, He was standing in a small dim room. To the right were deep shelves, lined with herbs and materials of all sorts. Medicines, trinkets, and even small pots of mushroom colonies filled the shelves. Below were oak cabinets clearly stuffed full of documents and more inventory, some of which refused to close. To the left was a curved area with the curtains drawn closed. A small stool stood to the side, worn from years of use. On the wall opposite him, a clock hung ticking steadily. Blue sighed, it was time to open up.

He walked over to the curtains and pulled them open, squinting his eyes at the unfamiliar sun that bled through. The world beyond his little window was a complete contrast to the one behind him. A warmth that rivaled the cold where he resided. He was situated in a sparse forest, filled with the brightest and cheeriest greens. Crickets chirped, birds sang, and doe grazed on ferns at the forest's edge. Beyond the forest was plains, plains of rolling, soothing green as far as the eye could see. Floral clusters of red, white, and violet grew above the prairie grass. Eagles soared, hunting for animals hiding in the shrubbery below.

The stall had a wide, flat, counter, which seemed surprisingly clean compared to the rest of the room, a relief for the eyes. He reached over the counter and flipped over a wooden sign, "Open," it read. If one were to stand on the other side, they would be able to make out several signs hanging on a sturdy wooden booth. The biggest sign was rooted to the top, it spelled out "Blue's Bartering" in loopy bold letters. Many smaller signs dotted the sides of the booth. They seemed to list in categories what he was looking for:
