Hidden in the shadows, Aleister was an outcast from Royal Society. It was surprising that he was even allowed in the castle, even more so that he was a designated heir and prince. However, though these things were true, it was well-known that Aleister's only purpose was to be shipped off and bound to another kingdom's princess, as Blade, the first in line, was obviously favored over Aleister. The Queen, Crystal, openly despised Aleister, as he was the son of the King and a concubine, who was quickly killed by Crystal when she found out.

When Aleister came of age, he was bound to another member of Royalty, Nova. She was much more highly regarded than Aleister, especially since she carried the Butterfly gene, something which every member of the Royal family has had for generations. Aleister despised her at first, mainly for the arranged nature of their bond, and secondly because she made his position worse in the castle. However, Nova did not despise him, and often tried to get closer to Aleister, her kind nature eventually wearing down the thick walls he put up, and having never experienced the warmth of love before, he fell quickly in love. The two were inseparable, and though nothing changed with the scorn they received from other members of the Royal family, their bond was enough to survive in their hostile environment.

Aleister's hate of his situation, the Royal family, and those who disrespected Nova grew every day, the hatred building up in his heart as he faced injustice after injustice. He hid all this under a layer of deceit, seemingly content with his situation as his emotions churned under his calm facade. For years he gathered support with the help of Nova, turning the largest Guild, the kingdom's merchants, and other members of the Royal family against the king in secret.

His rise was quick, brutal, and unexpected. He was crowned within a week of his massacre, the palace walls coated red with the blood of those who dared oppose him. The Fallen King, Vannifor, trembled at his mercy, locked away as political pawns in the rat-infested dungeons. His power over the merchants and the guild quickly put a stop to the rebelling nobles who could no longer control their subjects.
He was King now.
