Kaden Cromwell
"To Love Someone is to See All of Their Magic, and to Remind Them of it When They have Forgotten"

Kaden was born into a family well-versed in magic of many varieties. He, alongside his many siblings, fought for the position of heir as well as the right to a name, which their parents told them would only come about when they were able to create and perfect a new magic spell. More and more of Kaden's siblings began to do just that, and soon Kaden found himself falling desperately behind. That's when inspiration struck. Kaden began to do extensive research into psychology and ways to change cognition, like a glorified psychiatrist of sorts. Finally, he created a spell that would allow the caster to enter and traverse the mind of the subject, which could then, in turn, shift their cognition due to the caster's amplified influence. Kaden earned his name with pride, truly joining the Cromwell family. Things weren't all sunshine and rainbows for him after this, though, and Kaden quickly grew unhappy due to the stuffy nature his family upheld. He yearned for the freedom of his youth, and so struck out on his own. After traveling much of Sornieth, Kaden found himself on the Plaguebringer's lands. An intense prey scarcity within the desert-like wastelands pushed Kaden to the edges of the realm, all the way to the Wandering Contagion. He ventured into the thick woods one day for a meal, and wound up lost for several weeks. After a long period of near-starvation and dehydration, a delirious and weak Kaden encountered the wanderers, whom he begged to spare his life. Violence didn't meet him, however, and they rushed Kaden back to their camp, nursing him back to health over the course of a month or two. During that span of time, Kaden met Celeste, a skydancer that, due to experimentation, had multiple personalities. The two got along swimmingly and quickly developed feelings for each other. One night, Celeste snuck into his den as her third personality, and tried to come onto him. Even seeing this, though he refused, Kaden still found a way to love Celeste, and has vowed to always support her, no matter what. |
