B I O G R A P H Y

Delorium, commonly refereed to as "Engie", is one of the more closed off dragons in the lair. He mostly keeps to himself, tinkering with little baubles and taking apart complex machines only to put them back together better. He is the second in command to Ichiel's growing empire, and is the most reliable when it comes to protecting their nests and nursery. He's never actually been seen hunting or fighting by anyone save for a few, and those who have dare not speak of it. Despite his bumbly, kind, and generally humble aura, he's often mistaken as peaceful and passive, sometimes even naive. Woe to the hot-headed dragon that challenge the Coatl with Metal Wings.

Engie is not a force to be reckoned with. He may be generally calm and suave, but under his facade is a short-tempered maniacal mind that rivals that of Red's. Well, maybe not that sinister, but the Coatl can be pretty deranged at times, often accidentally over-complicating things with machinery and math rather than raw competence. Although he prefers the company of mechanical machinations over the presence of his fellow lairmates, often he can be found conversing with Anne or Fritz - the fellow apothecary majors of the Waveside clan. He finds their general intelligence to be appealing. He and Red speak on only rare occasion.

Some dragons may not even notice, due to his pearly white feathers blending with the white paint of his metal wings, but his right wing is actually made of metal. Because of this, he cannot fly and is frequently passed over for scavenging. But when it comes to digging for materials and relics, Engie is a professional. He's somewhat of a geologist scholar, knowing exactly where to hit, how hard, and how frequently. However, more often than not, nobody really listens to him. He's made several drills for his fellow lairmates, none of which have been used by anyone other than himself. He has a large collection of jewels and treasure that nobody besides Anne knows about, just to silently spite dragons who refuse his genius.

H I S T O R Y

Engie came from "a land from afar", as he put it, with a strange accent nobody had ever heard before. He claimed to be from a desert area when he showed up to Ichiel's lairstep, acting secretive and downright deceitful. Nonetheless, Ichiel gave way and allowed him to move he and his creations in. That was the day everyone in the lair stopped getting plentiful and healthy sleep.

Nobody really knows or understands where Engie came from, little is even known of his personality. He doesn't share much about his past, and bits of it he does share are vague and blurry and nonsensical at times. In actuality, he came from a broken home, most of which many had left before he was hatched, which caused its stability to fail. He was forced into the Auction House by his temporary clan leader, due to being sick of his machines constantly causing havoc and mayhem. Most dragons have considered him to be insane, but then they look at Merasmus and remember how fortunate they are.

Engie by no means is a broken-spirited dragon, like Ichiel likes to believe. His enjoyment in building his machines can be matched with no thing, and his self confidence seemingly never falters. However, he does have his moments when his superiority complex gets to him... Not for long, however, since Scout is always over his shoulder rambling about something ridiculous. It makes him feel a lot better about his intelligence.
