Flappy is a rather strange dragon, to say the least. She founded this clan because she wanted to be a spy, but her old clan wouldn't let her spy on their neighbors, and got annoyed when she spied on them (as practice of course).
Even though her clanmates didn't like her spy obsession she persisted, causing more and more dragons to become irritated with her. When she snuck into the Windswept Plateau and came back babling about how suspiciously friendly the dragons were there she was badly told off. She had become a disgrace to the clan. But still she remembered the stories she was told as a young one of how the bravest of dragons would go out in times of war to discover the top secret information of their enimies by infiltrating her clan.
Eventually the young mirror came to the realization that in order to become the spy dragon she aspired to be she must leave her disapproving clanmates and journey out to create a clan of her own, a loyal order of spies, known as...

Recently, Flappy has been joined by a Longneak named Palomus, who has bonded with her and become her familiar. He is very patient and tolerant of Flappy, and feels affection towards the slightly mad mirror. He also has a playful side, which allows him to enjoy the crazy ideas she comes up with, instead of trying to set them straight.

They met one winter afternoon on the edge of the Souther Icefeilds. Palomus had just finished guiding a small group of dragons throgh the treacherous mountains and had gone down to the coast to gaze across the sea, when out of the water popped a pale blue head, right in front of him. The head stared at him with it's for eyes for a few seconds and he stared right back.
Eventually the head spoke.
"Hi"
Palomus blinked, and watched as the head dissappeared back under the surface. Had her really just witnessed that?
A trail of bubbles confermed that he had not been hallucinating. He stepped back, and watched the bubbles move along, and after a few more seconds the head appeared again, and turned to face him, smiling.
"Have you seen anything suspicious lately, like I dunno, a beast clan attack? I'm a spy you see, I need to gather info on this sort of thing"

"Uh"

Said Palomus, caught off guard. He could've taken offense at this of course, being a longneak and all, but the dragon had asked in such a friendly manner, and the question was so odd...was this a joke? In the Southern Ice Fields attitudes were as rigid as the climate was frigid, and jokes were an uncommon thing, but he could tell by the deep blue of the mirror's eyes that she was not from the Ice Flight. As soon as this realization was made something awakened in him, a flame, small and burning bright. He knew, somehow that this dragon could take him places he would otherwise never get to go, that they would do things he would never get to do, and that above all they would...have fun. Be silly. Go on ridiculous missions together. Travel the world and spy on it all and get caught and escape and do it all again.
He smiled.

"Well, no I haven't as a matter of fact, exept for this one!"

And with that he threw a snowball right at her face.

A most wonderful snowball fight ensued, eventually being won by Flappy, who gave up and splattered him with a wave of water, rendering him sopping wet. She giggled, but stopped when she realized that he was now too cold and in quite some danger of catching hypothermia. Instantly regretting her epic win she allowed him to climb upon her back and carried him all the way back to her clan where he could be smothered with blankets and placed in front of a warm fire.

Flappy Flapperwhale tries to be the ideal leader. Perhaps that is why I have a soft spot for her and decided to care for this clan. However, though she does try she is far from being perfect. Flappy is a highly suspicious dragon who feels constantly under threat from Beastclans, the other Flights, her neighboring clans, and even artists. She doesn't trust easily and will sometimes feel uncertain about dragons in her own clan. Occasionaly she will suspect mutiny, or feel like the Clan is about to be attacked, which can cause her to have anxiety attacks. When this happens she hides from her fellow dragons, terrified of what might happen if they found out how weak she truly is. The only one she confides in is her familiar, Palomus. He comforts and reassures her of her own strength, and of the Clan's faith in her. Once sufficiently calmed down Flappy goes back to acting like her usual self, hiding behind the facade of boasts about being the best spy/leader/dragon ever. In truth, though Flappy will claim to think of herself as very attractive she is also quite self conscious, and will snatch up any opportunity to enhance her looks with skins and apparel.
Flappy loves feeling in control of herself, her clan, and the whole situation. If she can't control something it distresses her. Several dragons in her clan either don't take her orders seriously, or challange her boasts making her feel frustrated weak and scared (namely Gundernash, Bubblefly & HarbourFish).
Some dragons are unsettled by her loud proclamations and obviously less than perfect mental health. However, only one of those dragons reside in this clan, as most tend to stay far away.
Because some members of her clan blatantly disregard her position as leader Flappy feels the need to exert her dominance more to make herself respected. This means that sometimes she treats the dragons that do follow her orders (particularly Helpmyeyes) in a more harsh and commanding way. The more stressed and afraid she is, the nastier she becomes.

Despite her self-obsessed nature Flappy is a surprisingly loving mother who wants only the best for her two adopted sons. However she feels the need to have control over their lies, which can result in conflict. Currently she isn't too pleased with the fact that Awanskan has chosen Gogglegirl as his mate because Gogglegirl's pride and boastfulness clashes with Flappy's own. This dislike causes Flappy to make snide remarks about how Gogglegirls more common secondary gene showed up in all of their offspring. Awanskan doesn't take well to this and he and Flappy are now not on the best terms.

Flappy Flapperwhale's name comes from a Simpsons injoke, where Marge is writing a book. She starts the book: Swim swim swim thought the whale, flapping its flappers

The concept of Flappy Flapperwhale was first though up in a car, and later developed while on the beach in a sort of interactive roleplay spy game
