Prism, said to have been born to a night with a new moon when a terrible hurricane befell upon her village. Stubborn and agitated by those who have surrounded her in her childhood, she took to a life of adventuring and exploration to escape the restraints of expectations.

An arranged betrothal for familial gains with Gamaleddin was the final straw. After learning of the arrangement, by which much of the details and exchanges were already agreed upon, she forsworn herself from her kin. When Gamaleddin tried to persuade her (by threatening to curse himself), she grew even more agitated and immediately ran away from her hometown. However, her rejection of prior life had its consequences in loneliness as she was no longer had any affiliations and friendships were difficult as it was her penchant to disappear for long periods of time.

During a journey into a mountain forest, she witnessed a sudden striking of numerous lightning within a particular location followed by smoke of most unusual colors. Venturing down to find its source, she then met Hyacinthus. Charmed by her ability to work alchemy and potions, due to the energy, unusual smells, and myriads of colors that defined her craft, and Hyacinthus isolation from others to pursue her own ends, Prism and Hyacinthus would become friends.

It was a friendship that would finally work out, as Hyacinthus often needed various resources and materials both local and exotic which gave Prism opportunities and reasons to experience new locations near and far, Hyacinthus joining her for the sake of her studies to learn of new techniques and ideas from around the world.
