Most dragons expected the firstborn daughter of Betta, the Acquisition Division's chief diplomat to Water Flight nobility, to inherit her father's looks, charisma and winning smile. The daughter who actually hatched, on the other hand, had all the charisma of a waterlogged Qiriq and the smile of the same. They were right about the looks, though - Hill was born with enough eyes to look at everything, always, in every direction imaginable. Hill's unique ocular condition made her a poor diplomat, but it piqued her interest in mutations. A hatchlinghood thesis on the aberrations present in existent Dodo species earned her entry into Beta's Natural Science Division, and she's been experimenting away ever since. Much to the surprise of her peers, Hill eventually found love with another member of Natural Science - Heisenberg, an idle rich "academic" who studies ghosts, of all things. Many have speculated that Heisenberg's true interests are in the macabre nature of Hill's mutations, but by all public appearances the two are a devoted couple. |
