Biography
Si vis pacem, para bellum.
Few dragons are left of those that have been with the Revelers since its founding. Rider has seen the clan through all three of its moves and all four of its leaders. He is a quiet, yet friendly dragon choosing usually to stay on the sidelines, sometimes adding in his own speck of wisdom during the important debates about the clan’s future.
His long years of service as a Beast tamer and Hoard guard have earned him a lot of respect even with the high-seated members of the clan. His words are always listened to and taken into consideration. Few underestimate him and many of the more shady members even fear him and his twinkling eyes.
Surprisingly, Rider is quite the dreamer. He wishes to live a long life and see all the creatures Sornieth can show him. Though his time away from the clan is never long, he always brings back stories about incredible adventures, filled with danger and exploration.
He always enjoys a good laugh and an afternoon spent lazing about under the shade of a tree. The Fungalhoof Quiriq that always accompanies him is his pride and joy. His smile is blinding as he fondly retells the story of how he tamed the grumpy beast himself so many years ago to anyone who asks him about it.
Do not mistake him for a pacifist. He is quite the fighter and his nose is the best the clan can offer. He is a true Tundra when it comes to olfactory memory. The scent could be even months long and you can be 100% sure Rider can track them down across half of Sornieth.
Usually Rider has a small grin on his face which causes many to let their guard down around him, thinking the old Tundra is going senile and unable to see the truth behind veiled words and the subtle nuances of the body. Oh, Rider sees them all, how could he tame an animal if he can’t pick up its mood or thoughts? Rider knows about everything going on. The small animals that scurry around the lair are always up to sharing a secret they overheard for a bit of food. Members of the clan have learned to sober up and listen when that smile is not present, replaced either by a neutral expression or the odd frown. He will protect the family he has seen flourish and crumble for so long, no matter the cost.
