Lantana
A Shifting Recycler of the Mechanics Clan Subdivision

From the mysterious Chimeraishi Tribe. Of a particularly low rank in that society, he set out to make something of himself. It helps that Chimeraishi are natural shape shifters-in no small part due to the fragment of Shade they all carry inside from birth onwards. Thankfully, they have more of the world's magic within that keeps the Shade's Nothing in check.

Lantana is an upbeat guy and was very eager to join the Clan. He was going to out himself until Izar convinced him otherwise....though one day he would like to be out.

He joined the Mechanics Subdivision as something akin to a janitor but with the intention of finding new and interesting ways on reusing discarded materials. If the materials can't be reused, then Lantana has to find a way to safely discard them-safely being that no harm to others or the environment being the goal.

Oftentimes he's fond of reusing metal scraps to make art or figurines. Really any kind of scraps will do but metal really found his favor. Sometimes he wishes he was of Fire instead of Nature as he doesn't think he can fully appreciate metal. Lantana is also frequently singing or humming with whatever he's doing. It's considered by most to be pleasant and quite welcome.

Lantana found Chione by chance one night as he was disposing of materials. She initially rebuffed his attempts to talk to her until she collapsed due to dehydration. He was able to hide her with the help of the other shifters and get her back to health. Izar was the one that talked to her about the Clan and about taking dragon form as a safety precaution.

Chione chose to join the same Subdivision as Lantana, but with a more active role in creating new things for the Clan. She still found him more annoying than anything (mainly due to his status back in Chimeraishi society) at first. Over time, she had to shed a lot of her societal views and learn how to better interact with others-regardless of who or what they are. She was the one to ask him out-to just talk at first. But she started asking him out more to talk, then it was talking over a meal, talking while doing hobbies together and so on. Eventually, she flat out asked him to marry her. Lantana was absolutely fine with this and personally made two figurines that made a full scene when together as a sort of wedding gift.
