Persephone was found as a very young hatchling in the desert by Jade, among some ruins outside of the would-be Rest. Not wanting to leave the little one to fend for herself in the desert, Jade took her back to the clan just as Koi arrived with Kodiak, Cirrus, and Cobalt in tow. The two decided to take the four hatchlings under their wings, raising them as their own. Persephone quickly absorbed the inquisitive natures of her adopted sisters, and the four would often roam the new gardens looking for adventure. It wasn't long before others noticed Persephone talking to what appeared to be empty space. Koi and Jade were concerned for their daughter, and asked her about who she was talking to. Persephone responded she was talking to the pale dragons, and when prodded further, she specified that they were the spirits of the dead. Koi and Jade didn't know how to take this information, and so let Persephone keep running around with her sisters, but cautioned her to be wary of the ghosts. They began a wide search for dragons with abilities similar to their daughter's, so that she wouldn't be alone with her burden. In their wanderings they found the two eggs that would hatch into Faramir and Moongaze, dragons that would have Persephone's spirit-speaking ability as well as become her best and closest friends. At first glance, Persephone seems like she should be like any dragon connected to the dead: dark and gloomy. However, even a minute spent in her company reveals her kind and cheerful nature. Ever since she was a hatchling, Persephone was always asking questions of her parents and the other dragons in the clan, sometimes even appearing to speak into thin air, courtesy of her ability to speak with the dead. She isn't alone with her gift, however. Her two best friends, Faramir and Moongaze, share the ability, and the trio are often known as the Ghost Club. The Rest is a common stop for wandering spirits as well as physical, living dragons, and the three young dragons have taken it upon themselves to keep them in line. She is also good friends with Amala, who helps keep track of the ghosts Persephone and her friends have helped, and often helps scour the visitor records for requests the spirits might have. |
