Blizzard

According to old legends, Asthery was created a long time ago by a Fire goddess, named Asthery herself. The goddess felt alone and bored with the other gods, and she wanted to be in the company of mortals, so she created three islands in the middle of the ocean. Eventually, the gods found out about her little paradise and ended up cursing her. Since then, her fire magic became connected to the mortals belief, and eventually, they would stop believing in her.

However, the goddess still had faith in the mortals, and she stayed hidden in Asthery for generations, watching them. But as society developed in the city, she would watch as evil and sorrow destroyed her love for the mortals. She did everything she could, but when she noticed the Vérkert Guild would end up ruling the city again, she finally gave up. It was a violent, sanguinary group of assassins who already caused a lot of pain and destruction years before, but it wouldn't go the same way now. Asthery didn't even know it, but she would finally put an end to it.

The goddess was nothing more than a shell of her former self, and she didn't even understand she still had power left. She plunged into the sea and sank into the deep waters around Asthery.

It was the middle of the summer, but temperatures plummeted. A strong blizzard storm formed around Asthery, and it just wouldn't go away. Days passed, and mortals started doing what they were created to do: they died. Many of them tried to run away in despair, but only a few survived the travel. Months went by, and the blizzard never slowed down. Apparently, everyone had died or ran away of that cursed place. A thick layer of ice formed on top of land and ocean, connecting the three islands into one large formation.

One year into the storm, the weight of Ice and snow over the Earth was so great that the top of the highest peak in Asthery collapsed. A small cave was exposed. Inside of the cave, one of the rarest creatures in the world was resting peacefully: an Akirbeak. It breathed Fire on a weirdly shaped egg, and Arcane energy was released in every direction. After the energy dispersed, a small creature was released.

Vandy, the Ice Spirit, was finally free again.
