  Auge is a mysterious beast. His snout is flat and stout like a canine's, but the rest of his body is of a skydancer's, with a shorter, furry tail. Golden tattoos decorate his shoulders and neck, with red glowing marks wrapping his horns and secondary plumage. Unfortunately, his odd appearance makes him unapproachable; but when Messis is asked about Auge, she claims he's a calm, wise beast. Plus he has a pet frog named Cinnamon, how scary could he be?

Commonfolk often question Auge about his strange mutation. Why so many eyes? As a child, he was born with them. He often witnessed his step-parents stealing money and hoard items from other dragons. According to his Japanese priest neighbor, he had been cursed by his step-parents' unfathoming hobby of thievery, and Auge was born as a Dodomeki. Along with his race, he had terrible reputation as the "pick-pocket couple's adopted prodigy", so he was beaten, slashed, bashed, and neglected. As Auge's step-parents frequently disappeared on long-distance raiding quests, his neighbor, (???) looked after him for up to several months at a time. Auge began to look up to her as his real mother.

Auge's first parents disappeared after a raid. He and his neighbor fled the village that threatened her and her new son. Messis found a liking to Auge and took them in to the Palace.
