Charoite fills the position of clan librarian and scribe. In charge of all the paperwork, he rarely ventures outside of the clan's records hall. Because of his near obsessive need to keep things tidy, he forbids anyone except for the clan leaders (and occasionally Helios) from entering his workplace or accessing the records. He prefers the company of the ledgers over other dragons, anyway. When forced to interact, he becomes brusque and irritable. This, combined with his lack of tolerance for any subject he deems "foolish" (anything unrelated to his work), leaves him with few (if any) friends.

His scroll and sprite familiar were presents from a passing Arcane clan. When he's not busy sorting files, Charoite enjoys stargazing. Iolite sometimes joins him in these sessions, where the two almost function like a normal pair.

His greatest wish is to visit the Observatory on the Isles, but he refuses to leave the archives in someone else's hands.
