Current mate: Nilakanta Fellow witches: Nideth, Hihiria, Sadri, Naroua Friends: Zormi, Cobaltia, her children Former apprentice: Raistlin Escinca's lab is a bit further away from the clan's central hub, purely because she didn't use to be liked by the Archmystic, Cobaltia. Escinca used to be her student, but due to using methods that Cobaltia didn't approve and in general having better aptitude and understanding of shadow magic, she was quickly cast out from the local magic circle. That did not stop Escinca from continuing her research, however, and Tsaiare never enforced laws on magic practice. Escinca's first friend in the clan was Zormi, Tsaiare's Lady-In-Waiting. Time would move on and the Bogsneak happened upon a curious Pearlcatcher, trudging about the outskirts of her secluded laboratory, wading in the glowing waters of her mire. He visited more than once, and soon Escinca would learn it is Nilakanta, one of Cobaltia and Hematien's sons. At first, the Bogsneak barely understood Nilakanta's brazen nature, but the more often that he visited, the more she would miss him. Naturally, Cobaltia did not approve of Nilakanta and Escinca's friendship, but when it evolved beyond that, the Pearlcatcher became more and more subtle in his visits outside the clan's central hub. When his mother found out, he forbid him from visiting Escinca ever again, placing wards around the Bogsneak's territory that prevented others from entering. It was then the matriarch intervened, for she said that nothing can get in the way of love. It was indeed so, for before the ward incident, Escinca and Nilakanta were already nesting. When Nideth, Hihiria and Sadri joined the clan, Escinca took an interest in them, for they acted a lot like her - practising powerful magics without restraint by archmagi, but still following a codex of their own. Escinca is, by now, one of the clan's witches, and part of the Three's coven. This reason has also prevented her from moving back into the Sanctum, even though she has made up with Cobaltia ever since. New arrivals opened new opportunities for Escinca, and she gained a student, Raistlin. Unfortunately, Raistlin proved to be quite the egomaniac, and much to Escinca's dismay, he did not end up using Ice magic for academic purposes, but only to further his own agenda.
