Trefoil hails from the Scarred Wasteland. He has trekked through the sticky brambles of the Wandering Contagion, stepped over the bones of the dead in the Abiding Boneyard, and explored every inch of the Wyrmwound in his search.

Being a florist, to any other dragon, what he was doing would be unimaginable. Afterall, it made no sense to try and bring life into a domain as dead as the Scarred Wasteland. Trefoil has lived in many territories throughout his life, from the icy land of the Southern Icefield to the evergreen Viridian Labyrinth, but he has never settled. He missed his home, and the Rotrock Rim. Flowers are Trefoil's most prized possessions, but he has never figured out a way to keep them alive in his home.

Here is where we join him in his journey, to find the flower, to find his life.

Trefoil stood on a rocky plain, the wind ruffling his hood. The plain was light brown, and cracked all the way through, and in the distance, there were mountains. Ahead of him was a ravine so deep, he couldn't see the bottom. Trefoil was in the heart of Dragonhome, the Earthshaker's domain.

This was where his quest had brought him. Trefoil carefully examined the dirt, scooping up a bit, and deposited it in a glass vial. He had figured that the Dragonhome would have the most similar environment to the Scarred Wasteland. The plain was dotted with small shrubs, and if he looked closely, small white flowers. Trefoil smiled, and bent down to take a closer look. The roots of the plant were close to the surface, and spread out, similar to the Scarred Wasteland's plants. Trefoil broke off a branch, and continued on.

His next destination was the Tangled Wood. Trefoil figured that maybe he could find ingredients for a serum or potion to help nourish the plants, or make them immune to the ever-sweeping illnesses that passed through his home. He made his way through the territory, breaking off branches here, collecting dirt. Trefoil vaguely wondered if he could transplant a flower from one of the other domains, and plant it in its original soil, if it would survive.

Trefoil yawned, it was hard to tell what time it was in the shadowy forest, but he was tired, and fell asleep under a spindly pine tree. Daffodils and buttercups danced in his dreams. He wished he could make them thrive. When he figured out the secret, he'd plant so many in his very own garden. When he woke, he yawned, his glasses falling off his snout. He padded the dirt around him, and soon found them, brushed off the dirt, and headed on his way. At this moment, Trefoil had the sudden realization that he wouldn't see home again for a long, long time.

Follow me to the edges; hide in the crevices and scratch for the unseen beauty of the world. Layer yourself in fabric and feathers, curl down into memory’s waiting embrace. Scarred hands and hidden eyes; could you see them, they would smile. Bitter tea and dark chocolate; an autumn soul who yearns for spring. Follow me back to the deserts of my homeland; I would yet see them burst into bloom.

“Hmm? Ah, those wings stand out, no matter how you look at it. This fellow must harbor a bright desire in his heart, despite the hard edges of the opal bound into his skin. Few other dragons so bound in plague-gear would hold those flowers so closely. I wonder. Where will he go with them? We only bumped into each other at the market as I looked for scrap metal; he barely threw a passing glance, so invested in the florist’s stand as he was. Hm. I suppose I’m thinking too deeply about it. Don’t I already have proof enough that if if you hold blooms in your heart, they will shine through, one way or another?”
