Echo
Shadow man  "Shh he's near" Their hearts pounded. “We shouldn’t have ever come here!” “Oh, to the great Arcanist! Shush up!” The two dragonets peered around the corner, staring into the darkness, the silhouette of what seemed to be a wildclaw stood there. It seemed to shift and ripple, like serpents slithering over it. And the dragon’s underbelly sloshed like a turbulent ocean. They could just about see an icy, blind eye by the blue wisps of flame surrounding the dragon. From this little light, they could also make out giant, deer-like horns and something like vines hanging down from the dragon’s head to its tail. They had seen dragons with extreme apparel but never had the dragons with giant horns, a flowing mane and swirls of flare been standing in the darkness, watching them. The two tundras shuffled back, beginning to regret sneaking into the plague lair by their own. They had recently moved from the Crystalpine Reaches to the Abiding Boneyard, and being the playful creatures, they were, they snuck into the nearest clan they could reach. And then they met… it. Before they could ponder their mistakes much more, the creature padded further down. They gasped collectively as the wildclaw-like thing towered over them. They could now more clearly see a scarred eye, and their tiny, paralyzed pupils focused on the soft, pink skin on the deformity being a scar of the dragon’s left side of the face Suddenly, the wildclaw’s mouth curled into a word, or at least, he was trying to form a word. “H-Hwe-Hello,” He managed to speak in a deep, gruff, cold voice. The tundras shook in fear, still too petrified to move. “I- havewn-Haven’t talked in so…. Long...” He said. “I’m..m… so… lonely.” The two dragonets exchanged looks, unsure how to respond. They had a moment, an almost telepathic one and the two young tundras dashed. They ran, fear still pounding into their chests. Echo watched the two leave and stared, his heart aching from the memory of being remembered, being loved, being there. He stared, slowly sinking back into nothingness. | xxxxxx |
