- - - Lucidity has dedicated her entire life to the protection of the ancient castle that stands on the edge of town, as well as the ageless artifacts within. Many years, centuries, even, have passed since these items last saw the light of day, they have sat forgotten, perhaps even desecrated, if not for Lucidity's ever-looming presence. Through the hallways, down even the darkest of secret passages she patrols, not a single one of the castle's secrets remains hidden to her. Not after all her years as the guardian of this once-sacred place. Other dragons her age would be out in the sunlight, pursuing their hobbies, their passions, some even finding mates to tie themselves to for life, but such a life is not for Lucidity. Seemingly silent as stone with the heart to match, that's what they all say, but do they know her any better than she knows herself?

- - - In truth, Lucidity's heart isn't as unmovable as one might think it is. In fact, calling it a heart of gold might be more accurate. Unbeknownst to all but herself, animals and familiars alike flock to her side when she calls, they have long learnt to accept her presence as that of a friendly guardian and have come to love her like one of their own. It is with them that Lucidity finds her true self - a gentle giant, bound by the weight of her responsibilities to keep this castle standing despite that dragon's attempts to destroy all traces of ancient history. One day, someday, she hopes to befriend other dragons the way she's befriended these creatures, but that will have to wait for many years yet, unless someone brave enough to approach the silent protector of the castle appears. Until then, however, Lucidity has perfectly delightful company - even if it's only in secret.
