A corruption of the Gaelic name Bairrfhionn, meaning fair-haired.

While Baerfhion is technically a member of the Sable Glen clan, he spends most of his days in the Tangled Wood and other locales, looking after his charge (and mate) -- a small, flamboyant pearlcatcher by the name of Ceidrych. Ceidrych belongs to a wandering clan of dragons that their clan leader, Mochi, has ties to. The two used to travel a fair bit, but have mostly elected to stay with their clans after several run-ins with angry Beastclans and not-so-friendly fellow dragons, mostly due to Cei's rambunctious nature. These incidents have made Baer quite tired of travelling, and as such, he's happy to stay put in Tangled Wood with the rest of Cei's clan and maybe not almost die.
