She was pressed into taking on a certain charge, and it nearly destroyed her. Between the physical strain of protecting it and the emotional strain of trying to convince herself 'this is good, this is what I'm supposed to do, this is what I want', it took a heavy toll.
Eventually she said No. No more. And she left
Her charge now is herself. And she's trying to be better at caring for it.
