━━ story ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
Lazarus laced their fingers together, bringing Virion's hand to his lips. His skin was a little darker than his, ivory against the healthy glow of a daywalker, lightly dusted with ginger freckles. As the tip of his nose brushed against his knuckles, he inhaled deeply, relishing the smell that was uniquely him. A sweet, wood-based perfume that scented his pillows long after he had left.

Virion rolled over in a comforting crunch of freshly-ironed linen. Lazarus was close enough to see every dot on his elfin face, every eyelash, every fleck in his startlingly green eyes.
“Come with me,” he said to him.

“Where?” Lazarus gave a sleepy frown. The sun had risen, glaring through the thin slits in the heavy velvet drapes and filtering gently through the gauzy hangings around the four-poster bed. It was warm, approaching the heat of midday and time for him to be asleep. His heart sank as he realised it was, of course time, for Virion to be awake.

“Not now,” Virion propped his head up on his elbow, looking at Lazarus with lazy contentment. Their skin was still slightly dewed from earlier efforts, causing his long orange hair to cling to his chest and neck. He shook it loose. “You know what I mean.”

He did know what he meant. He thought about it all the time, about following this elf 'temptress' wherever he went, as far as he was willing to take him, to all corners of the map. Virion felt at home anywhere outside, his elfin veins went deep into the earth and a cradle of tree roots as a bed was charming to him, or a night under the stars. He would go where the road took him, on a whim, with no return date, no schedule, a song that was never finished.

Lazarus felt he was sorely in need of a bodyguard like himself, and the desire to go with him was strong, but the uncertainties dug in their claws. He needed an itinerary. He needed structure. Wanderlust was not a strong feature in his life, which was solidly constructed around his family, his bond with Wren, his loyalty to Damon, and his needs as a half-vampire. He knew that adhering to his schedule would be a hindrance to Virion, who was not encumbered with such limitations.
Seeing the world was a fascination, but fleeting, he wanted to visit, to satisfy his curiosities, and then to cherish those memories somewhere, somewhere called home. He couldn't imagine Virion settling down anytime soon. His livelihood and his passion went hand-in-hand with his taste for adventure.

And he loved him for it.

“But you're going somewhere? Now?” Lazarus pulled a stray black curl out of his mouth, blinking up at him, trying to read his face.

“Yes.”

“No,” Lazarus held his hand firmer, sliding it beneath his pillow as if taking it captive.

“Yes,” Virion laughed, though his smile was sympathetic. “You know I can't sleep.”

“I'll go with you, just, give me a minute,” Lazarus's eyes were closed, but the frown was still apparent on his pale brow, struggling with the effort to rouse himself.

Virion supressed a sigh. He could be maddeningly stubborn, moody, at times jealous and dominant, but he made up for it all with the overwhelming amount of love he had to give. It never failed to make him feel special, that this beautiful creature in his sea of long, dark hair, would want him so much. But there was a strain. Since Virion had visited for the weekend, Lazarus had hardly slept, unwilling to leave his side even for a few hours, perhaps for fear he might disappear. Shadows were starting to appear under his eyes.

“Lazarus-”

“I'll be quite alright.”

“Don't make me lay here awake out of guilt.”

Lazarus cracked an eyelid open, and the scarlet stare he gave him was almost petulant. That earned him a chuckle, exasperated but pleased to play this game with so rewarding a player.

“You'll be so tired you won't even notice I'm gone,” Virion suggested, sitting up and tucking his curtain of hair behind one pointy ear, even as the other side swung forward to hide his face. He wriggled his fingers, still bound in Lazarus's grip.

“What are you suggesting?” asked Lazarus quietly.

“You know the answer.”

“I like to hear you say it.” There was no trace of sleepiness now in Lazarus's eyes, they were watching him keenly.

The look was enough to bring heat to his face. “Well I hardly need to now, do I?”

Lazarus grinned toothily. “No.” He sat up, tossing the tangled sheets from his waist and looked Virion over with amusement. “You're wearing my shirt.”

“Yes,” Virion definitely was blushing now. He hadn't meant to blush. It wasn't a big deal, it was comfortable, light as cheesecloth with no collar, only laces. Made for shoulders wider than his, it had slipped sideways alarmingly.

Lazarus helped it along, tugging it off his shoulder and gently biting the exposed skin.

“Do you want to-”

“No. Just you.”

Virion took hold of his chin, re-aligning his face so that their eyes met. He looked fondly over his lover's pale face, his widow's peak, his long pointy ears that were so like his own kind, yet were not. He kissed him, burying his now freed fingers into that black wavy mass that was Lazarus's mane of hair, his elbows on his shoulders as the dhampir lifted him effortlessly onto his lap. They kissed, messily, their teeth clicking together as Lazarus found time to ask:

“You will come back, afterwards?”

“Yes. Of course,” breathed Virion.

But only for the weekend.

━━ history ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
Finely Crafted Lute
Red Emperor Tulip
Dirge Fiddlefiend
Autumn Breeze
Virion was born as the oldest child into a family of two fathers (two powerful Necromancers) and two younger sisters. They were all Nobles and while he didn’t mind this lifestyle he always found a liking to entertainment, something that his parents weren’t all that fond of. After all, how could their oldest son be into something so... Common. Virion just liked to explore creativity. After all there are endless possibilities with the worlds that you create right? While he did love his family, he felt like he should follow his dreams. Traveling the surrounding areas to perform for people to bring kindness and joy into their lives.

But things didn’t end all that well for his family nor the people in that town. For some reason unknown to him, it was burned to the ground and due to him traveling he sadly only found out about this upon his return a few days later. His family was gone and with that he was left on his own.

From this point on Virion developed a great distrust for new people he meets, but at the same time he keeps his old morals of wanting to share joy with the people in the towns he travels by. Especially the people who could use some cheering up. One of his goals became to find the person who murdered his family and make him pay for what he has done. He feels that by doing so he will both bring peace to himself and to the rest of the world so said person can no longer cause any further harm.

For a brief time before the events of this story, Virion came across two other people. Ezekiel, a relatively Newborn Vampire, a guy obsessed with tinkering and inventing things who managed to annoy the crap out of his previous Master. While at first this mostly ended in arguments, Virion eventually took a liking to him and that was how the two of them came to be. Until a couple of years later when they ran into an odd mage named Dolan in a pub. Dolan annoyed him even more than anyone he had ever met before... Tsss stupid Dolan trying to win everyone’s heart with his magic tricks, Virion was stuck with him everywhere he went. The guy always talked his ears off while occasionally stealing Virion’s hat and clearly trying his luck on him whenever he could. They too became friends eventually... Sort of. But while they did travel for a while, they often also went their separate ways due to their rather different lives. But whenever they do see each other again it’s like they’ve never been apart, they just... Have very different goals right now. He hopes to someday be able to have the same fun with them again that he once had.

For now Virion is trying to make a living of his life as an entertainer, investigating the strange tale of his family and mourning the lies that are his life, while at the same time protecting those close to him (aka his party).

━━ notes ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
» Virion has two pets, one is Ryker, a black panther that takes on the form of a pocket-sized statue most of the time, but on special occassions when he's in need he can call out his name and the statue transforms. The other is a small Faerie dragon who he named Narya, that hatched from an egg he found and carried around with him during his journey.
»
» Virion has more respect for the death than his parents did and after finding out their secrets hopes to settle down and work as a gravekeeper while still performing in the towns around.
»
» Virion has a rather large burn scar covering his torso, right arm and hands from back when his home was on fire.
»
» He and a close friend accidentally travelled back in time when trying to put a Bag of Holding inside a Bag of Holding.
»
» Virion's soulmate is Lazarus, the two often seem to cross paths throughout life but their differences also brings a great sadness along. Lazarus left him twice for Cyril and albeit understanding it did affect the way Virion views romance.
»
» Virion can play many types of instruments but the ones he's mainly proficient in are: The Mandolin, the Violin, the piano and the Flute.
»
» Despite appearing as a bit of an air-headed and odd individual at times Virion is one of the most powerful individuals in the lair when it comes to magic, likely due to the powerful magic line that he comes from. It is deeply rooted within him and connected to his music.
