Verel was born and named in a lightning clan, but was put up for auction as a hatchling and remained there until his early adulthood. Once he was relocated to Hidden Valley, he realized his dream of becoming a fighter, and fights in a group with Renaitre and Innara. He also suffers from his own past, however: he is constantly fighting with his fear of abandonment that he picked up from his time in the auction house. He won't tell anyone, but Verel is not as brave as he would like others to think. He does, however, have a penchant for the pearly jewelry that compliments his natural colors. Verel also has a huge crush on Innara, the beautiful young sorceress and fighter. However, Verel is certain that Innara is too conceited and self-absorbed to mate with him willingly, as she continuously ignores his every attempt at love.
