Biography
Rhapsody
"Many dragons round here hide their eyes if they aint plague. Rhapsody don't bother. It causes occasional grief for him, but folks who know him like him, and I aint the only local quick to... discourage... harassers on his behalf. And if you think his eyes are a bother, you should see Fantasia." - Avidan Entertainer

The Gaping Maw Located in Clifftown below the Bonestrewn Crest is the Gaping Maw. It was once one of two clan gathering hubs, a large chamber used primarily for audiences with the Queen or Council, particularly when guests from other clans were included in the gathering. These gatherings were often centered around the sharing of hunts and storytelling, and it was the main entranceway into the lair. When the clan shifted its seat of power to the Wyrmwound following the capture of the Scarwind Keep, the space maintained much of its function, though now it is a far more public space, frequented mainly by travelers looking to trade and exchange news. Though its still a popular gathering place for locals and various members of the clan. It was eventually formalized as a tavern of sorts by the industrious plague dragons of the cliffs, who benefited greatly from the stability of food and supplies provided by traders doing business between the lowlands of the boneyard and foothills, and the difficult to reach upper expanse of Rotrock and the Wyrmwound. It's a large cavern, extending deep into the cliff with space to accommodate a small number of the largest of dragons. Light pours in from the openings, and shadows from dragons flying past or entering dance across the floor and far wall. At night the space is illuminated by the large central fire pit. A few tables and platforms are in the space, some of which have small stacks of hide and fur scrap around them as seating and lounge space. interspersed between these are recesses in the floor, filled with gnawed bones and other inedible scraps. The ceiling is hung with decorated leather tapestries depicting tribal scenes and stories, as well as more bone chimes, and large painted skulls, both dragon and beast. |
