Bewioneth: Cornish for 'biology'

Bewioneth is the firstborn of Pithicus and Koswikergh, two of the more science-oriented dragons of the Valkyrie, as the result of a fling between them. Nevertheless, both parents loved their spawn, and were pleased to have a more personal student.

Such was the bond between parent and child- taking on more of a teacher role, with each parent taking their children to their workstation and showing them the beauty of science. She was unafraid of her father, for although he was gruff, he made it a point to protect her and her brother from harm.

As was customary in the Valkyrie, Bewioneth was given her name after entering adolescence, when she expressed a curiosity in taking after her father and studying physiology, in both animals and dragons. When the Healers find a specific strain of poison or disease when their magic or knowledge fails, they take it to her to develop an antidote or vaccine. She is more interested in fiddling with existing organs and studying bacteria, but the Valkyrie funds her research, so she is bound by duty to study these new strains as well.

The Tundra adopted a workstation near her father, and can be found running to and fro, with stacked petri dishes and microscopes around. She is generally impatient with other dragons, and is more comfortable in the bestiary and garden, tending to simpler needs and more solvable cases.

She has a friendly rivalry with her brother, Fysegieth, a physicist, since both believe their own fields to be superior. Fysegieth is the more outgoing of the two, often encouraging his sister to publish her findings and helping her proofread her papers, a favor she gladly returns whenever he wishes to publish his own. They love their younger sister Efanvos, an astronomer in training.
