A New Start
Her vision swam as she tried to stand, pain filled her body as a headache overwhelmed her... “No, no NO, that is not how this happened! Why are all you scribes so dramatic? When I woke up I was confused as would anyone be if they woke up with no knowledge of how they got there! Gadzooks I swear if you shoot me one more disapproving look you’ll be sent out with the scribe! Let’s try this again.”
She opened her eyes and confusion flooded her body as she took in the sight of glowing mushrooms... “Ugh, no, how does confusion ‘flood’ your body, I never understood things like that in books or- you know what I’m stressed. I’m just going to tell you my story and you’re gonna write down what I say, exactly as I say or you’re being sent to the dungeon, ok? Ok. HA-ha, alright story of my life,
”Ok so it began as I woke up CONFUSED in the Tangelwood, though I may have had no knowledge of the world, I did, however have instincts. So naturally when I saw the big, 100 times my size,green lizard a few feet away from me, I poked it. Looking back on it now I could have died, but meeting Gadzooks was one of the best things to happen to me. Though back then HE didn’t know that, he nearly killed me with his careless tantrums, oh yes the very calm Gadzooks had quite the temper back then. Oh shush Gadzooks. Anyways, Gadzooks was extremely upset and confused, so he started tearing up the place fire, claws, everything at this dragons disposal was used. After his little fire storm he FINALLY noticed me.
He didn’t talk when we first me, he barely talks now but at least I can read his expressions, like now he’s annoyed and slightly embarrassed...oh now he’s telling me to shut up, again ....ohhhh! Now he’s mad, such a scary dragon, isn’t he? What was I doing again? Ah yes the story. As I was saying, he didn’t talk but that didn’t stop us from working together, because when you don’t have a home, you make one. And the burnt away part of the forest? Perfect.
Nothing much happened in those next few days building a home, oh it was so boring! And the weather! You’d think there’d be SOME consistency. The temperature was so non committal! Don’t laugh at me Gadzooks,I stand by those words. As I was saying the temperature was insane! Sure it’s fine NOW, dumb Karma.
Though I did have Gadzooks. Once we finally had a ‘ok’ den for ourselves we talked a lot, well I did. We were both in the situation: memoryless, no one looking for us. Fast forward a few weeks and we had three hatchlings already bigger than me! And then the strangest thing happened...hatchlings, started appearing at our border.

_Personal_

____P ersonality-Seraphine has three faces, the one she shows to outsiders is confident, a trickster, deadly. The mysterious demon on a throne. The one her clan sees is the second one, the strong Shadow Queen, clever and cunning. Committed to the growth of her clan, approachable. The third one is sassy and playful, often laughing freely. This face shows just how much love and affection she has in her heart for the dragons she cares about, though this face is shone to only her closest clanmates.

____Trinkets: Seraphine keeps MANY things, but these have sentimental value. The rose was the first gift she ever got from Gadzooks when they were still building the clan and had barely any money. The Black queen she found with a set of abandoned chess pieces and she just had a feeling that she should keep it. A shadow rune, that was a gift to her by her clan. And lastly, the statue of Shadowbinder was bought by Seraphine with the excuse that every good shadow leader absolutely must have one, Gadzooks, just sighed and rolled his eyes as Seraphine yelled at him that is was a perfectly good use of money and to shut up.

_Duties_

____Not being your typical queen Seraphine doesn’t do a lot of the things regular queens do. She often joins hunting parties and gets her claws dirty. Though she does make sure everything is running smoothly within the keep. When she’s not doing any of those she turns her focus to one of her personal duties: Reading everything she can get her claws on. If not her chambers for reading then she is working on everything to do with foreign affairs: sending letters to the few dragons who know of the Nightshade’s existence. Often visiting her allies personally, so no one ruins her calculated plans.
