Biography

|| Solana ||
|| They/Them ||
Amiable, Dependable, Genuine, Ditzy, Clingy, Accommodating
Grove Fern Flute Unicorn Dust Scroll Case Empty Inkwell Cattail Fungus-Covered Branch Solana was blessed with the eyes of the Lightweaver upon birth, along with another of their two siblings, Srayun. Solana didn't truly understand the ramifications of this for a while. To them, it just meant the older dragons liked to shower them with toys and sweets and affection. They soaked up the attention like a sponge. Solana was regarded as the "brightest" of their siblings. They weren't rude and grubby like Srayun, always quick to stick out his tongue or trick others. No, Solana always smiled kindly and were quick to make friends of anyone. They received gifts and answered questions gladly, happy for any and all company.

As Solana got older though… This attention twisted into something less good intentioned and more clingy. Dragons were offended if Solana didn't have the time to talk with them, to answer their inqueries, or give them a blessing. Solana was scolded heavily when they went to play in the forest with the other hatchlings, because getting dirty was unbecoming of someone blessed by the Lightweaver. They were told to learn only pure magic, to talk proper, to dress sophisticated. Solana felt suffocated. But they would be ungrateful to deny those who had given them so much, right? So when dragon's gazes flickered down their body and lingered hot and heavy on their scales, Solana said nothing. Trembling, and wanting desperately to get away, they smiled. Slowly but steadily giving away pieces of themself, they smiled.

Then came Vekana, hurtling like flaming comet back into Solana's life. The sibling who they were always sure hated them, suddenly at their defense with spitting words and biting talons. Who reassured Solana that they could say no, that they only had to do what they wanted, that how dragons had taken advantage of their trust was wrong. In that moment, Solana found it insulting that anyone should think Vekana to be their and Srayun's shadow. Without being blessed, Vekana managed to shine more brilliantly than any dragon Solana had ever met. Srayun managed to be pulled in by Vekana's protective orbit as well. The clan had estranged Srayun and Solana from each other, but Solana quickly saw Srayun's lone wolf, abrasive attitude was mostly a defense to how others treated him for being blessed. Vekana reminded them that they were all connected, if not by their "blessing", then by their bond as siblings. He united them, saved them.

As the atmosphere of their home clan got increasingly stifling and toxic, the siblings decided to travel. They all trained to be mercenaries, Solana specializing in archery and healing magic, Srayun and poisons and curse magic, and Vekana in physical combat. Away from their home clan, they all felt the freedom to spread their wings and pursue whatever they wanted without ridicule. And with both of their siblings by their side, Solana couldn't be happier.

Other Traits
~Has a long and elegant build, thin but toned,
with a whip-like tail and sleek horns. Their scales
are always shining and they like to keep their beard shaved

~Scars are scattered across their body, most thin
and hard to see unless you're looking.
Trivia
~ Is very good with the flute and has a lovely singing voice! When they and their siblings aren't doing mercenary things, they'll occasionally play gigs for a quick buck (but mostly for fun). Vekana on main vocals and lute, Srayun on secondary flute, and Solana on flute and secondary vocals. Vekana writes the lyrics and Srayun and Solana work on the instrumental parts.

~ Is a very tactile dragon. Especially seeks affection from their siblings, hugs and pats and head bonks. They are always down for a cuddle pile and a snooze.

~ Is usually the mediator whenever Srayun and Vekana get into an argument or their banter becomes a little too biting. Generally, when things start going bad, Solana is good at keeping a calm head and calming everyone else around them.

~ Loves plants!! Partially due to their fascination with healing magic, they also love studying healing herbs (and plans in general). They would definitely keep plans of their own if they were constantly traveling. Solana is the type of dragon to randomly be able to recite very specific plant facts at any given time.

~ When they get frustrated or are emotionally distressed, they like to go out at night and target practice with their bow and arrows. It helps calm their mind and keep them centered.

~ They enjoy reading poetry and creative fiction, a passion shared with Vekana. Solana is often asked to beta read stuff Vekana writes and asked for their opinion (and Solana is always honored because Vekana is very shy with his work)

~Solana absolutely dotes on their familiar Dusk. Since they can't have a garden because of traveling, Dusk fills that plant shaped void in their life. Dusk is always hanging off of Solana's horns or nestled in their overcoat.

~Is a surprisingly good actor. Knows how to fake emotions if they have to and generally is pretty good at smiling even when they feel miserable, for better or worse.
