Fuaran’s second son and the mate of Persephone, Apyrenum is the third of Clan Ischemia’s Enforcers. He takes his duty as seeing that Hesper’s will is carried out very seriously and will let nothing stop him from seeing his task through. His rank in the clan is a source of great pride for him, a position earned by strength of mind and claw rather than birthright since his clan regards strength above all. Possessed of a very dominant and domineering personality the only dragons that he has any regard for are his Alphas, his parents and, oddly enough, his mate. Despite being incredibly brutal and savage, not to mention far more dominant than Persephone, he is utterly devoted to her and will more often than not defer to her in all matters.

Persephone seems to be the only thing in existence that he has any room in his heart to love and as such that love for her is total and unconditional. In any other being such a true love would be seen as the purest of virtues, though this is not the case for Apyrenum, as he shows his devotion in the ways that he knows best. Every foe he kills is slain in the name of love for his mate, every creature he kills is a sacrifice to his beloved. He would gladly kill every being in the whole world if Persephone demanded it of him and then bite off his own tongue to make the sacrifice complete. Of course she never asks such displays of bloodshed from him, instead she contentedly watches him show off for her and after the hunt she has nothing but kind words and compliments for what a truly wonderful mate he is. When she fights along side him his heart soars and he finds himself lost in the perfect moment of slaughter as the two of them shred foes as one. In those times he feels truly connected to her, as though they are two halves of a single whole.
