Do you know the stranglehold covering their eyes?

Sky came stumbling into the cave as a young hatchling, fearful and disoriented. She was separated from her family during the same hurricane that drove Sway and Sedition out of their homes, and they never came looking for her. Starlight brought the shivering hatchling to Garland and Sade, who raised Sky alongside Crusander. She was a quiet and pensive hatchling, who spent most of her time following Burst around and reading whatever she could get her claws on. When she was older he took her on as an apprentice, hoping that she could eventually become a loremaster as well. Sky accompanied Burst on many of his information-gathering outings, for many years. She was often at odds with her sister Crusander, who was angry with Sky for being so readily apprenticed to someone she admired in the field she wanted to work in, while Plunder repeatedly refused to apprentice Crusander.
It was on an outing with Burst and Pyre to the remnants of the pillar of the world that Sky was hit in the head by a chunk of the pillar itself. There was some sort of upset, a shifting of the Earthshaker, and from atop the crumbling pillar a large chunk of rock fell. Burst and Pyre rushed Sky back to the clan, and Roots tended to her, but she was at a loss. Though she and Burst had been taking care of Reverie for many years, neither of them were sure what to do with a fresh injury. After conferring with Volatile, he recommended they contact his old teacher, as at this point it would be more than a decade before Augustine joined the clan. Martia, the consort of an allied clan’s matriarch, had trained Volatile to be a combat medic and had dealt with head injuries before. After a very panicky Plunder came crashing into her lair, Martia agreed to treat Sky.
Sky’s recovery was a very long one. While Martia was still treating her, she and Roots noticed a few small crystals in the corner of her eye. When they refused to brush away, they inspected the crystals further, and found that they were anchored into the scales around her eye and seemed to be growing out of her skin. This was the first time anyone in the clan had ever seen a dragon with an overabundance of magic that affected their bodies. At first they plucked out the crystals, fearing it might be some kind of parasite, and that left bloody, messy holes in her skin and caused Sky massive amounts of pain. But the crystals just grew back, filling in the holes, harder than ever. Eventually Burst, working reluctantly with a trouble making necromancer who had taken interest in Sky's condition, found a passage in a very old book that talked about the phenomenon of magic warping eyes and skull structure. Though the dragon mentioned in the book was afflicted with fire magic, the outcome seemed more or less the same-changes to the structure of the skull and area around the eyes, correlating with the dragon’s element. The fire dragon had lost all of their sight when their eyes were consumed by flame. Determined to not let the crystals damage her eyes, Sky’s sister Electra devised a small stone grinding device that kept the edges of the rocks blunt, and made sure they did not grow too far towards her eyes.
After seven months, Sky had recovered enough for Martia to return home to her clan. Her motor skills had suffered, though not to the same extent as Reverie’s. She returned to working with Burst, but on another information outing, tragedy struck again. As Burst and Sky traveled, they passed over a small graveyard of a clan long since moved away from the area. The instant Sky tread on the ground where bodies were buried, the earth shook. Four dragons long dead struggled out of their graves, with crystals lining their scales. They stumbled around, confused, wondering where their clanmates were. Sky and Burst fled, concerned that the ground there was cursed, and returned home. But after a bit of research, Sky found that this was her fault. The earth magic that had been so prevalent in her since her injury sought out nearby corpses, no matter how old, and brought them back to life as an earth acolyte-a dragon with immense magic and mostly free will, but unable to disobey a command from the deity who had resurrected them. Sky spoke at length with Storm, an ice acolyte and a close friend of hers. Storm spoke of constantly living in fear of the Icewarden, an immense power he had never met.
Sky’s mother Sade insisted on going with her when Sky went to find the four dragons she had unknowingly resurrected. During their journey, they discovered that Sky could fly over graveyards with no issue, there would only be resurrections if she touched the ground. As a result, from that moment on Sky only touches the ground in places she knows have no dead buried in them, and takes her rests in trees. After a year of searching yielded no confused earthen acolytes, Sade insisted that they return home.
