Biography

MELWYN
Expert Chef
<Joined after Synth's Reign>
monument_nature.png A lone Tundra stood in a dense bamboo forest. Her short-cut fur was patterned with blue, green, and white splashes, and her dark magenta eyes revealed her Arcane heritage. She adjusted the basket at her side so it wouldn’t spill any of its contents as she crouched to inspect some more plants. Taking a deep breath, the Tundra could tell these were not the plants she was looking for.

Standing back up, she closed her eyes, smelling the air and searching for the desired plants. She couldn’t remember what they were called, but that was nothing new. Catching the scent, the Tundra moved through the bamboo with barely a sound. She stopped as she found the source of the smell, and upon seeing the plant, she remembered it was an amaranth of some sort, though she couldn’t remember the specifics. It didn’t matter though, since she knew every plant my scent alone. She could pick out any single plant from a forest full of them.
The Tundra picked the amaranth and stored it away into her basket, turning to head back to her clan. This plant was the last thing she needed for her recipe, but a lot of the other dragons had a hard time finding it, so she often went out to find it herself.

“Melwyn! Welcome back,” greeted one of the clan guards as the Tundra approached. She knew Melwyn was her own name, though she forgot it frequently, and, if her intuition was correct, she believed this particular Wildclaw was named Willow. “Did you find everything you needed out there?” She asked, tilting her head as she stepped aside to allow Melwyn into the clan.

“Yes, I did. Thank you,” Melwyn answered in her usual quiet voice. The Tundra made her way through the clan, following the scent of the place she called home. She stopped in front of the building, a soft smile forming on her face.

Melwyn was a chef. She had a natural talent for mixing foods together to produce something even greater than the individual ingredients alone. Despite only eating plants herself, Melwyn was great at preparing all four of the food groups, and often mixed two or even three of them together when preparing meals for certain dragons.

Her sense of smell was Melwyn’s greatest tool. Just by scent alone, she could tell if anything was toxic, going bad, or about to burn (if something was cooking over a fire). Even in complex dishes, she could pick out each individual ingredient, though she struggles to remember the names of everything. She could even tell what foods would compliment each other in a dish by smell alone.

Though she was hatched in the Starfall Isles, Melwyn had set out in search of new foods to experiment with in her dishes, and eventually found herself in the Windswept Plateau. She decided to settle down here, since all the traveling dragons brought everything to her. The Plateau was a perfect central hub for everything to pass through and gather, so she didn’t even have to travel to get exotic ingredients anymore. It was certainly amazing, in Melwyn’s eyes.
