Biography

A First of the Labyrinthe

A former Emperor Hunter, and if you ask him one of the best, Lycus became obsessed with how to eradicate the threat of Emperors from Sornieth after seeing them cause so much destruction and heartbreak. He decided that to save his world from these destructive monsters, Lycus would have to end the threat of Imperials entirely. Thus began his reign of terror over the entire Imperial species.

Lycus became a fiery angel of death, lurking in shadows and stalking his prey for months, even years, before finally striking them down in honorable combat. His previous knowledge of hunting Emperors proved surprisingly useful for hunting down Imperials and...removing them from the equation. He began to collect a following of idealistic dragons due to his charming and earnest personality. They all began to break off into smaller groups, even some Imperials following the green Pearlcatcher, under the banner of The Crucible. Many clans who shielded Imperials began to fear this idealistic drake and his well-meaning followers.

Many of these allied clans began to band together to go against The Crucible and their Imperials, tired of fleeing and hiding behind their brave allies and their stalwart mates, stood to face their fear. The clash was one of the largest in history with horrifying casualties on both sides. Emperors rose from fallen comrades to keep on fighting despite their monstrous, feral state

These risen creatures never harmed their allies and this strange phenomenon swiftly overwhelmed both sides, leaving Lycus to combat multiple Emperors and the allied forces alone until he was finally overwhelmed. The last thing he did was leap into the air, wings outspread against the sky. The sun behind him made the Pearlcatcher look heaven-sent as if he were the angel his followers claimed he was. A halo of flaming light backlight his head accentuating the sight.

Raising his pearl before him, Lycus cried out an ancient spell and channeled Sornieth's sun into his body and through his pearl. The superheated and magical beam flew from his physical soul, separated into arrows and struck each Emperor on the battlefield through each head, pinning them to the ground. A last shouted incantation and spears of sunlight pierced their hearts, felling the beasts instantly. With that last spell, he fell limp to the ground, surrounded by his enemies and allies scattering, save for a few.

He was sentenced for life to roam the Labyrinthe, still unconscious and critically injured, Lycus was carried by his fellows, sent battered and injured without ceremony down into the depths of Sornieth. When Lycus awoke, it was to Alaric assisting his allies and his body covered in bandages. A beastlike Imperial was further back in the shadows, conversing with Aranict and handing the other Pearlcatcher bandages and healing their wounds with pale cyan magic. He snarled, shakily rising to try and defend his allies from that creature, but Alaric's nonchalance and how the beast cowered from him, Lycus begrudgingly accepted theri help and respects both drake and shrike respectivly.

More Enforcer than Judge, Lycus is crueler to Imperials and only tolerates them if they have specific purpose or roles in the Labyrinthe. He rules over the Fortress, where the Court is located, with an iron paw with Aranict and his commanders at his side.
