Korril
PLAGUE/ICE MAGE
oNUic3j.png
Not every egg finds a nesting ground. Unlucky eggs of travelers are often misplaced, lost, or forgotten. Often times these eggs go on unhatched until someone finds the egg and cares for it, sometimes in vain and other times with success. These found eggs are often taken in to the clan and raised like their own, even if they are not anything like the clan.

Korril was one of these eggs. Found by the plague mage, Spear, while he was out doing “Research” of the snow covered land outside of the caverns the rag-tag group of researchers called home. He brought the egg back to the caverns with him, finding it intriguing that a plague egg be in the Cloudscrape crags. The other plague representatives found it intriguing as well and asked Goldenwing if she would care for the egg. Goldenwing, though doubtful the almost frozen egg would survive, agreed and took the egg into her nest. Nimbus, her mate, was a little unsettled by the egg that sat in their nest, saying that it was, ‘Not right to go around adopting random eggs when they already were cramped.’ Goldenwing would just roll her eyes at him and continue doting over the eggs.

The egg changed the more it sat in the icy nest with Goldenwing. It took on a more pistachio hue and a more frosted over look. Jiao was curious to know what it meant. She spent a whole day just staring at the egg, while Goldenwing huffed and puffed around the geneticist complaining she was in the way. Unfortunately for everyone in the nesting grounds Jiao did not remove herself from the premises until after the egg was hatched, annoying everyone.

The day the egg hatched was exciting. The plague representatives (Spear, Morir, and Pinkie Pie), Jiao and Buttercup, and of course Nimbus and Goldenwing were all in the cramped cavern. The dragons watched as the egg shook and slowly cracked open next to the ice egg, The dragonet came out a gorgeous grey with stunning reds. The other dragonet hatched as well, but was disregarded by most of the people watching the nest. She opened her eyes and revealed the red eyes of a plague dragon but with a fade to them.

Spear sensed a strong plague magic in her, but he sensed a chill to her magic like ice had started to creep in, trying to be the main source of magic. Jiao was very curious to this and wanted to study the dragonet more, but Goldenwing insisted that they leave and let the dragonet rest saying, ‘She isn’t going anywhere, she’ll be here with me.’ Jiao agreed and left with Buttercup. Morir left soon after without a word. This left Pinkie Pie and Spear with the Goldenwing and Nimbus. Pinkie Pie and Spear looked at each other and then Spear said, “Goldenwing, I think we can handle the dragonet from here, if you would let us.” Goldenwing obliged although she seemed very sad as the dragonet was taken away from her, just like any mother would.

The dragonet was named Korril and was raised like any good plague dragon. When she was older she started training under Spear to learn how to control the plague magic inside her. They trained a lot and whenever Spear was around the spells she cast would always be perfect and plague-like, misleading everyone into thinking that her magic had turned out fine, but whenever Spear, or any of the other plague representatives for that matter, were not around and she tried a spell, something icy always happened.

Once when she was trying to cast a simple infection spell on a rotten dragonet, awaiting his time to be sent to Icewarden. Instead of the infection spell, like she wanted, she froze the dragonet and Celena spent all day trying to unfreeze the poor thing. Shiver and Flash-Freeze were quite upset about what happened and almost threw a fit when they, and Celena, were accused of freezing the dragonet. Of course Korril knew she should confess, but she let the ice representatives take the blame, knowing it would be best for everybody. She never tried to use her magic without Spear, Morir, or Pinkie Pie around after that happened.
