Years ago, Vivie was a Seeker - a Gaoler dedicated to hunting down Shade creatures and capturing them to be imprisoned in the darkest dungeons of the Fortress of Ends. She was always proud of her reputation for always getting her mark, and took great lengths to never disappoint her superiors. Until, of course, she disappointed her superiors. She was assigned a mark, captured it, and brought it back to the Southern Icefields - but couldn't bring herself to take it into the prison.

She and her mate Kerie fled their home, and eventually found sanctuary in the godless chaos of the Sea of the Thousand Currents. Water flight authorities were too busy searching the fathoms for the Tidelord to cooperate with the Gaoler Order's investigation. Rumors still spread, however, and when Beta's Acquisition Division heard about their arrival they pounced on the chance to have a real Gaoler Seeker in their ranks.

Vivie agreed to their proposal in order to get shelter for her family. She'd long since lost her passion for Seeking, but she's willing to use her talents to hunt down... "unusual" assets for Beta every once in a while if it means protection from the Gaoler Order. Her irritability with the process means that Acquisition only asks for her services in cases where she's the only one who can do a job.

When she's not on a hunt, Vivie can be found in Beta's nursery, watching over the clan's hatchlings until they're old enough to find new homes, or fretting over her own daughter (and trying to ward off Glory's suspicious mate). Vivie finds little comfort in her Gaoler heritage of late, but there's something satisfying in using her skills and training to protect what she loves instead of guard what she fears.
