Biography
ColdMoon
Job: Keeper of the Moon on the first snow
*************************************************************************************Job: Keeper of the Moon on the first snow
The day was bright and clear, not a sight of clouds. Laughter of dragonets from miles away could be heard as they pranced along, playing their games of tag. The first snow of December had just fallen. Soft, pristine, white snowflakes float down to the grounds now frozen surface. Dragons of all ages pranced along trying to catch these flakes upon their tongues. Dragonets roar in laughter as they tumble down a steep hill one after another. Their falls end in the thick snowy blanket below.
Yet suddenly…
The skies above begin to grey out to dark, black clouds that cover the sky overhead. At first sight the sky has only begun to be sullied by gloomy weather, but it only continued to become darker and colder. Rays of the sun were unable to penetrate this now dark and cold world. Now these playful days are only left to slowly be crushed by the claws of such clouds. Dragons scream and run for shelter as they realized the snow had made an unusual turn of deep grey. Those who touched the sullied snow could only feel the wrath of cold, the likes of which one could never imagine.
Dragons fled in all directions, until the clearing was empty. Cold. Alone.
That's when the dragon first began to appear. A shadow at first, misty, unshaped. But slowly he came into view. He was a beauty. Blue all over, covered in beautiful stars. Yet his eyes. His magenta eyes carried something worse than death. A cold, cold glare.
The dragons walked upon the hill, where only a few moments ago, dragons had been laughing and playing. He glared down at the world, the coldness becoming unbearable. As he spread his wings, a shadow was cast. The moon had risen.
Snow, snow! All dragons come to play,
happiness, love and laughter!
You think that’s all,
nothing but light,
Yet there I lerk,
Waiting
Waiting…
Until I strike,
A shadow risen from below,
I’ll eat up all that you loved.
No more happiness,
No more love,
No more laughter.
For the first snow is my awakening,
My time to ruin your fun.
My time to show you,
The real light of the cold.
“The heart can get really cold if all you've known is winter.”
~ Benjamin Alire Sáenz, Last Night I Sang to the Monster
