They had a project for him. Use your greater gifts of your element, create the ultimate dragon of survival.

The base is similar to him, so he should have no trouble if he knows so well how he can use rot and contagion to increase his own might. Similar, but inferior.

Breaking down was easy. It was the reforming that was difficult. The dragon should be using their own might to survive, not his. It was wrong to be making adjustments himself. Though could it be wrong if he could do it, when not all dragons could? He was different. Important.

A lie to comfort oneself. To reject the project would only lead to danger. Might even be like the base that now loyally followed and obeyed his every command from what his illnesses had wrought.

Base was easier to say than Brother.
