INVENTORY
BIOGRAPHY Illyas was born to an Ice flight hunting family. Most of his childhood was spent seeking quarry on the Snowsquall Tundra, chasing prey down between the dense evergreens to line up the perfect shot and bring home honor and a meal for his family. Under the tutelage of his parents, he quickly attained a position providing food for the permafrost hoard, used to feed the clan while they recovered from the long months of hibernation each spring. When his mother and father were exalted to the service of the Icewarden, Illyas was publicly delighted for them, knowing well the honor it brought to their names and to the clan as a whole. Internally, however, he did not want them to go. Their absence made the den seem much colder, and in time Illyas lost his desire to remain in such a chilled place. One by one, his siblings Ichiro, Iram, and Ingrim all followed in suit, gone on to serve their deity with pride, but Illyas was never selected. The den grew more sullen with each absence, the empty spaces a stark reminder in the home they used to share. Eventually, his aching loneliness overcame his distrust of the world beyond the Ice Fields, and he set out to find a new place to call home. He settled in the Viridian Labyrinth at last, near the other side of the world of the floes he used to call his home, and discovered a friend who in time, became his mate. |
