Aegir simply showed up one day with his infant son. No one knows where he came from or even what he is. The fact that he managed to travel through the woods without harm makes them pretty suspicious.
He's not really one of the fair folk that live in the woods, but there's definitely something off about him.
North permitted him to stay. She could hardly do anything else if she wanted to remain in good standing with the gentry court. The fair folk did offer her consolation for this intrusion though, in the form of Aegir's son, Tempest.
No one knows exactly what Ageir's goal is, and as such, all are wary of him. If you don't know someone's motivation, you won't see it coming when they stab you in the back. Because of this, he has no allies or friends in the Clan. Most have taken the hint that he isn't a dragon to be trifled with.
