Biography

Avrok
Avrok is a very strange little hatchling, but he is loved in the clan anyways. He's a little funny looking, with dirty grey scales as if he was rolling in dust, and a deep blue liquid in his stomach, but there's a certain beauty to the way his scales shimmer like deep space, perhaps an asteroid field. He was found by Nakia when she was out hunting, and she heard some strange noises coming from a patch of bushes. She assumed it was some sort of ground bird, maybe making strange noises because it was injured. She pounced at the noise, slashing away the bushes to reveal Avrok, sitting there, not phased at all by the great warrior with her claws inches from his face, just calmly blinking up at her. Avrok doesn't talk, but rather makes small croaking or sqwauking noises. Perhaps that's where he got his name, as "rok" and "arawk" are some of his more common noises. One of the strangest things about him is his eyes, they're a bright and firey orange, very different from his cool grey and blue scales. He doesn't seem to be able to see out of them very well, as he often stumbles around and bumps into things. The clan healers say that he was most likely In a fire and was burned, his eyes somehow absorbing the firey energy through some sort of spell, saving him from harm, but erasing his vision almost completely. Because of this, some think that he has magical abilities. Such abilities are fairly rare, but Avrok is far from normal, so it wouldn't be surprising. Avrok is watched over by a large firey familiar, a sunspot clouddancer. Nobody knows it's name, but shortly after Avrok arrived in the clan it too appeared, and never leaves Avrok's side. It walks around with him, almost acting as his eyes, keeping him from running into things and protecting him. Though he has his quirks, Avrok is still a loveable member of the clan. The hatchlings play with him, the adult dragons keep an eye on him, and Avrok is loved and cared for by them all.

Nakia walked through the woods, sun filtering down through the leaves and warming her wings. She was on patrol, her keen eyes searching for prey, other dragons, and (most important, to her) looking for any potential threats to the clan. She scented the air, but it was a fairly windy day, and she couldn't pick up much more than the smell of fresh air and the undergrowth. She kept her ears perked, listening for any movement. Deeming this portion of the woods clear of any threats, she decided to go hunting, and turned in the direction in which she knew a stream was. She knew these woods like the back of her talon, they were a home to her, a safe space, a land she loved with all of her heart. As she strode through the brush, she heard a strange sound, one she hadn't heard before. It was small, like a croak, or maybe a sqwauk.
"Awk.. Arawk" she paused in her trek and turned towards the noise cautiously. Whatever was making the noise didn't quite sound as if it was in pain, but it must've been injured in some way. Using what she knew, Nakia deemed the source of the noise a ground dwelling bird, some sort of grouse, which had gotten injured. She decided to put it out of its misery and feed the clan at the same time, and kill the source of the noise. For a moment time seemed to still as she slowly and expertly crouched low to the underbrush, her eyes fixed on the brambles that were hiding the source of the noise from her. She pounced suddenly, her claws outstretched, shredding the brambles to bits, talons reaching for whatever was hiding, when she stopped herself, inches from the creature's face. It was a dragon, a small, strange looking dragon. It wasn't flinching or crying, just blinking calmly up at her, not seeming affected by the deadly talons that were agonizingly close to its face. She waved her claw in front of his eyes, but he had no reaction. Blind. Her eyes ran over his scraggly and small wings, his calm yet silent demeanor, and his firey yet unseeing eyes.
"H.. Hello sweetheart, I'm sorry if I startled you" she said kindly, "what's your name?" The hatchling cocked his head to one side.
"Arawk? Rok?" He sqwauked back. Nakia wasn't quite sure what to do, she was concerned that the hatchling could be hurt or lost, so she gently picked him up by his scruff and took off, carrying the young hatchling back to camp, not knowing that soon the strange little hatchling would become a beloved member of the clan.
