No one is really sure where she came from. She just appeared one day, moving amongst the clan as if she'd been born there. She went from dragon to dragon, asking if she should deliver messages that were still just thoughts flitting about in their owner's heads.

Many have wondered about her origins, but none have dared to ask. Her expressions are impossible to read, even by other fae, and her quiet demeanor has made many wonder if she isn't as her namesake implies.

Despite all this, hatchlings love to seek her out. Spectre's ghost stories are unmatched, and it's not uncommon to find her surrounded by a small crowd of dragons, both old and young, listening in horror and awe to a story she is telling.

She is Spectre, Messenger of the Groundhaven Clan, and for the first time in forever, she feels alive.


  origins.

Spectre was born to a small Wind Clan living near the edge of Plague territory. Her parents were disturbed to discover that somehow, the Plaguebringer's influence had reached their nest, and one of their three hatchlings was born with Plague Red eyes.

Her clan was not accepting of this. It didn't help that the young Spectre seemed to possess psychic powers, often answering questions that were never actually asked, and reacting to comments that were only ever thought. Even those who would have accepted a Plague member into their clan began to feel unnerved by the young fae child whose monotone was only worsened by the lack of movement by her crest.

Spectre yearned for the approval and love of her family, but everything she did only seemed to make them hate and fear her more. She did not know how to hide her powers, and even trying to be useful while using them was considered unacceptable by her clan.

She left soon after she reached adulthood, aware that if she didn't leave willingly it was only a matter of time before she was thrown out. Her wandering eventually took her to the Groundhaven Clan.

Shale mysteriously appeared at the same time Spectre did.

Though they spend most of their time doing their own thing away from Spectre, they are fiercely protective of her and will be at her side in an instant if she calls for them.

Any clan members who dare to interact with them discover quite quickly...

...that they are a very good dog who enjoys belly rubs and games of fetch.
